Purposefully went for one without a c!!!!at....hate seeing babies being pushed around crammed into tiny c!!!!ats because people can't be bothered to use the chair / pram bit.
I just want to play with it now....have to wait though...patience is a virtue and all that.
Good old kiddicare..... i dont live far from there and i could spend a morgage in that shop! I might get a new rocking chair for baby soon but I do have everything in the loft from last time. I keep wanting to get everything down and sort it but I'm waiting to hit 26 weeks (23 weeks today)
Got to sort out the spare room too... all lovely good jobs to doCant wait to meet Bumpy!:j0 -

I am 37.5 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first pregnancy went OK and there were no complications - I finished work the friday before my DD was born.
2 weeks ago I finished work because of high blood pressure. My BP has been low throughout up until this point. I have started having headaches which are not severe but frequent. I contacted the Midwife and protein was found in my urine. She recommended I finish work and rest - which I did.
I was monitored by a midwife every couple of days and my BP fell and my urine was ok again.
On Monday night I had the worst headache ever and resorted to taking paracetamol. I visited the midwife again (she must be sick of me now) and protein was found in my urine and my BP was up again. My urine has been sent off for analysis and I have to return tomorrow - although they don't think that the test results will be back. Last week they did a blood test to test my liver function which can can give an indication of Pre-eclampsia and this has returned fine.
I am sick of the headaches and don't know what to do. I don't like the idea of taking paracetamol, but the midwife assures me it won't harm the baby. My care is midwife led and I won't visit the hospital until I am in labour. Anyone got any advice as to what to do?0 -
After my joy of the pram......I'm having to send it back again. The frame is bent of all things. So my idea of spending the evening pushing an empty pram around with a daft grin on my face was destroyed.
I seem doomed to not having a pram. We're actually going to be in the Peterborough area this weekend, so instead of paying who knows how much to return it we are taking it in ourselves and will exchange it in store. At least that's the plan....and we did call them up to make sure it was okay first.
If we do that with luck we won't end up with something with a bent frame.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Very first post on these forums - whohooo!!!
We're expecting our first baby, er, tomorrow! (well, that's the due date anyways) so with my wife being at home now on maternity leave, I'm all for looking to find as many good ideas from people as possible - and this looks like a good place to start
We have been unbeleivably fortunate in that my parents have bought us a pram (their first grandchild, so it'll be spoilt rotten no doubt!) and my wifes parents helped by the furniture for the nursery.
Things will undoubedtly be tight with only me being at work whilst she is on maternity pay, so we're looking to cut as many outgoings as possible really. I have already managed to terminate my monthly mobile phone contract (which I'll not miss at all), so thats a saving - only problem now is with my car having an MOT to pay for, and some work needed doing on that, but sadly no car means I don't get to work, so it's one I have to pay for
Just wanted to say hello really, and hope I can get some top tips from everyone!0 -
I have bought a travel system with a c!!!!at, nothing to do with wether I can be bothered to use the chair/pram bit  but so I don't have to wake my baby up getting her in and out of the car, interupting her sleep when its not necessary. I think it will be a godsend for us both and hope mothers don't clobber me in the street for my cruelty.0

I'm just listening to my sister's words. She always felt sorry for her son being stuck in a car seat all the time. She felt sorry for the little mite and thought it cruel. As a result she was very reluctant to take him out for walks. I know my partner loves his walks, and will be in seventh heaven to take ours out.
So for us its something important to listen to. If she is woken up by movement during the day....then it'll teach her to go to sleep at night. At least that's the theory anyway.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Hi all Mums 2B:j
I'm about 8 weeks (honeymoon baby!) so my EDD is 26th April 2007
I'm 35 and this is my first one. Bit panicky about being 'old' and the risks of chromosomal abnormalities and all that.
looking forward to meeting little moo in the spring.
Does anyone out there know what the maternity pay entitleements are for NHS workers, I know it changes in april 2007 to 39 weeks paid leave, but I don't know what rate the last 13 weeks is paid at. The first 4 weeks are full pay and the other 22 weeks are half pay plus SMP (£108 per week)
are the last 13 weeks going to be just SMP?ISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF
