I wish! LOL!
I am a big girl anyway, so at 15 weeks - its already glaringly obvious - people are asking if it's due before Xmas!!!!! :rotfl:
And I still feel terrible! Sick, sleepy everything.
And I am going back to work for a few months on the 18th, so am hoping its calmed down by then.0 -
Sam - Don't use a 2nd hand car seat.
Its not worth it. If the car seat has been in an accident, it weakens the straps, padding and plastic surrond. this means that *if* a second accident were to occur, the car seat is in effect useless.
Its suggested that a damaged car seat is about the same as simply leaving baby on your lap in the car.
And you have no idea whether or not this car seat is okay or not - it would not be obvious to the eye.
But fantastic on the cot! Biggest expense sorted! Its amazing what people chuck out!0 -

well done andycarmi. bet that is a relief.
Just found out at work that another colleague is pregnant. She's already 5 months, and doesn't really look it at all. People have been saying how big i am since i was about 4 months. It is really strange how it affects different peoples bodies.
It was my first day back at work today after the six weeks hols. Apart from feeling a bit achey around my lower back, it wasn't as bad as i was expecting. It helped it was a training day and there was free coffee and biscuits. Yum.
I'm just starting to really struggle again with sleeping, and was up 3 times last night for the loo, so i am glad i only have 19 more work days to go.
I heard a rumour the weather was going to get hot again, so i hope not too hot as it was bad enough in june and july. Hope you are all doing well.

Hi Everyone.
Had dating scan on Friday and it was amazing to see my baby for the first time. DH came too and said afterwards that it all seemed far more real. He'd half convinced himself that they wouldn't find anything and that it would just be a phantom pregnancy -not that he wanted that but he's a cautious soul and has been trying very hard not to get too excited.
Anyway, the baby was fast asleep and I was told I had to bang my bum on the couch pretty hard a couple of times to get it to wake up. It was really funny seeing it react and start to wave its little arms around. All in all, quite a surreal experience. Could have stayed and watched it for hours.... Am now busy boring people at work by showing them the scan picture!
Well, the EDD has now moved forward slightly to 2 March so I've updated the list.

LillieFlower wrote:Up until Wednesday I had virtually no symtoms except a bit of bloating. Then I woke up on Wed morning feeling sick and so was pretty relieved that things seemed a bit more normal. Felt sick when I woke up on Thursday too.
Since then though, there's been nothing. No sickness, no mild tummy cramps like I'd been having occasionally through the previous week, no lightheadedness (had that last weekend). I didn't really feel too pregnant to begin with but now I feel even less so.
Oh dear. Think I spoke too soon! Talk about one extreme to the other. Yuk, yuk, yuk. Morning sickness in full force today and a couple of days ago too. _pale_ So much so that after an hour lying in the first aid room at work this morning they sent me home!
GP has prescribed some of those anti-sickness tablets so hopefully those will help, but let's just say I'm slightly less worried about whether I'm really pregnant or not!
Oh, has anyone else had really bad diarrhoea at around 6-8 weeks?!? Not sure if it's just me and whether this is a pregnancy-related thing or whether it's a bug on top of everything else. Problem is, I can't take tablets for it according to the doc because of being pregnant!
And if anyone can help on how to deal with trousers getting too tight that'd be great too...0 -
My wife and I are expecting our first on 25th December!!!
Please can you add us to the EDD list!! Heather and Mark.
Well, we've looked at prams, so we've started getting things moving!
I think I need to spend some time looking at theis thread!
Congrats to everone else, and I hope that everything is problem free.
We've had our 20 week scan (well it was nearly 23), but because of the position of the baby we don't really know if it is a boy or girl.
As for names nothing will go with my surname!0 -
Hi again Lilliflower
Sounds like we're having similar (ish) pregnancies. I was amazed to find that I spent lots of time in the loo - and not needing to pee - early on. Hubby and I call them "must go moments"
I wouldn't worry about it. Could be a million things, including your body adjusting to all the hormones. Or, if you've suddenly changed your diet and started eating loads of fruit and veg, this could be having an effect.
I've suffered with it, off and on, for the whole of my pregnancy so far - 25 weeks today - it's just one of those things and, as far as I'm concerned, way better than the alternative!
Sorry to hear about your sickness though. I kept a packet of ginger biscuits by the bed and had two before I even got upright in the morning, this seemed to help me out. Also, I was having fruit for breakfast but soon figured out this wasn't a good idea. Lemon and ginger or peppermint tea are also pretty good if you're into herbal teas.
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Allroundgoodguy - are you as traumatised by the idea of a Xmas birth as I am? I'm desperately hoping for early December or early January and have even started Xmas shopping as there's no way I'm lugging myself round the shops at 8 months pregnant!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

I agree - to all those due around christmas time make sure you are prepared well in advance. Luckily my pregnancy has been almost trouble free but now I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant this last week has been really hard. My babys feet are down by my right hip and some days i can hardly walk or turn over in bed. You definitely do not want to be christmas shopping as it's stressful enough without feeling 90 as well.0
