Agutka wrote:Because the docs count from last period, whereas you know you ovulated on day so and so of your cycle. Therefore at 40 weeks your baby has actually been in existence 38.
But I'm just guessing...0 -
But I can't be wrong!
Maybe it's secret pregnancy code - we'll find out as soon as we have our first pre-natal appointment...
Ho-hum.... whenever that will be...
Once you ovulate it is a LONG time to your next period when you can find out if you've been successful... I have another week to wait at least...:wall:0 -
Me too I really want to do a pregnancy test now but I know it's far too early.0

Right now I'm 25+2....ie, 25 weeks and 2 days.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Yep - rchdapp explained it. They say so many weeks + so many days. It makes a lot more sense when it is happening to you. It took me ages to get my head around the whole 40 week pregnancy thing, and then this as well. Sorry for confusing people.0

Hi I'm 38 weeks pregnant and my due date is 30th Aug.... just found this thread after not checking out the site for about a month
I'm all over the place and moving to a new house on friday with my partner and our 2 other girls so you can all imagine how hectic it is....
I am very excited though and looking forward to new experiences with a baby boy and a new house!!:j
My consultant said that this baby could be born up to a month early because my other 2 were born at 36 abd 37 weeks, but nothing so far.. I've been on maternity leave for 4 weeks, but still waiting:wall:

Your son probably realised the importance of mummy being able to set up the new house before he appears. How sweet...:wall:0

So, being a TTC, I am currently waiting to see if we were successful this cycle. Another week or so to go... however I have managed to get myself an ear infection. Which I am treating with antibiotics and lots of paracetamol and ibuprofen. This helps me stop crying and get out of bed. This morning my hubby sent me an email about NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen, taken at time of conception stupidly increase risk of miscarriage. When I get pregnant and know about it, I may be careful with what I put into my body - wouldn't want to hurt anyone. BUT in this pre-pregnancy, waiting-game time of my life I am not yet accustomed to thinking about hypothetical babies needs. And the pain of an ear infection is rather strong. Should I stop taking the medication? Is there any point suffering this much? Can't be good for the baby either. I woke up in pain four times last night. (With no support from the snoring lump on the other side of the bed, I might add. )
As for my trying to conceive - I don't think we've done it yet. I have no symptoms, my basal temp has fallen and I guess I would have PMT now - this would make me irritable and sad (ear infection covering that up nicely) and breasts would be tender (can't feel anything though the painkillers though).
So, probably not even pregnant yet and a bad mother already...:o:wall:0 -

Hey dont beat your self up about it!
You get these people who fall pregnant by just looking at a bloke and it very annoying! and us lot of people who have a long job getting pregnant. My friend is one who just look at her husband and i joking say to her 'u want to stud him!'
Me? Well it took me well over a year to get pregnant the 1st time-then mc but 3 months later, pregs with Hannah. from start to finish it was over 2 years!
This pregnancy again took ages as my monthlys are a joke 2/4 months having a period so fat chance of knowing that i was pregnant-hence cost a fortune on preg test and feeling all p***ed off when it was a bfn. To get pregnant this time was 10 months.
just wanted to say, keep in there and keep trying. and i really hope you you get a BFP very soon!!Cant wait to meet Bumpy!:j0
