Some of you must be really lucky (as in outside my Trust) they said they wanted to keep an eye on me! I've had 3 miscarriages, last was last July, blood sugar problems(low), PCOS, a disabled son and am now 40 with high blood pressure and still not seen my consultant at 23 weeks! And now they tell me this will have to be a section after the last two emergency ones. Can I opt out now? Oh forgot also a bad back from an injury at work. It can only get better.

We've got a few surestart centres in our area and some of the courses they run are great and well worth attending, we actually registered DS at one centre, had to make an appointment but it saved the trek into Manchester town centre to register him.
Worth asking your midwife if your local centre register births.
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
    ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you find out about these? The aqua natal classes sound nice :)

By accident really as I have walked passed it millions of times but never took any notice. It was only when I became pregnant that I popped in. They have a great timetable of activities for when baby is born such as baby massage (which I think will be fab!). Not yet been to Aqua Natal - still thinking about dusting off my not worn very often swimsuit! x

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about the swimsuit business. Was thinking of taking DS to the swimming pool but am not sure whether my cossie will fit - and there's no way I'm spending money on a maternity one for the sake of a few months!

I do have a tankini somewhere, which would work with the bump, but I'm not sure whether I could face that much exposure :o

Bit of eventful day here. Had an extra scan today as the midwife noticed at my last routine appointment that I was too big for my dates.

Scan has shown baby to weigh 6lb 15oz at 34 weeks gone. My two boys were 5lb 11oz and 6lb 1oz at birth. I'm also carrying too much fluid.

Possible causes are pregnancy diabetes, a blockage meaning baby can't swallow properly, or simply just a big baby! Her head is also an odd shape.

Midwife has printed off pics of head to show consultant, and I'm going back tomorrow to discuss things. I'm also having more tests done to check for diabetes.

I've been told baby will have to have a tube down her throat after birth due to the possible blockage, and to be prepared to be induced early.

On the positive side, the placenta is high and working well so no problems there, and we had a good look at her lady bits, so she's definitely female!
Here I go again on my own....

I hope everything goes well for tomorrow- if it is gestational diabetes then it'll initially be a matter of controlling your diet for the next few weeks, if that doesn't work, then it'll be insulin - however, it may be better to be induced slightly early rather than be put on insulin.
I ended up eating cheese and bread as a snack for the last trimester, as fruit spiked my blood sugar...lol.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

Becles, it all sounds very scary to me! I do hope it all works out. I don't know which of these options I wish for you. I guess the best healthwise would be 'just a big baby' but ouch!
