we went to our local NCT sale today

thankfully we're just signing up for NCT antenatal classes so we got in before the hoards otherwise I think I would have run away crying as it was a real scrum. We didn't buy much as we're not really ready to just yet but they had all sorts of bargains. Pramettes for about £20-30 a 3wheeler travel system for £50 not to mention storllers for next to nothing. Loads of big toys and things too. We just bought a few clothes as we know we'll get given a load of stuff. They sort clothes into age and sex and have everything up to school age at least. Well worth it if you have one locally but you really do need to get there early!

I'm going to one next Saturday and looking forward to getting some bargains, not sure about the crowds though!

I have been really lucky in that I haven't suffered from any morning sickness, I am just amazingly drained and exhausted all the time. I was looking forward to entering the second trimester as everybody said I would feel better, but I am not nearly 4 months and still zonked constantly.

I could literally sleep for 20 hours a day given the chance, but I have learned that no matter how much I sleep, I am still zombified!
  • Congratulations Suzukibabe!!!!!! xxxxxx

....I've just been reading the thread about pregnancies best kept secrets and WOW its really been an eye opener for me! GULP!

Oh heck, me too! I'm only on page 12 and daring myself to carry on! Maybe they are kept a secret for a reason (i.e we would never, ever decide to have children if we were fully informed! )

Does SPD creep up on you slowly or happen overnight? I have been having twinges for a week or so, but today I feel like I've spent all of yesterday exercising... Stiff and pained. I really don't want this 'symptom' and am going to get an appointment with someone tomorrow to talk me out of it - pain can be psychological right? :(

Mine started off as just general aches as if I'd done too much or pulled something in that area. It got worse over a the next couple of weeks, until the pain was really bad and I mentioned it to the midwife. She said it was SPD then, and I'd never heard of it before.

I would get checked out as if you get advice and take precautions now, it can stop it getting a lot worse. In the worst case scenario, you can be on crutches/wheelchair with it, so you need to prevent yourself from getting to that stage.

It can be managed, and mine hasn't been too bad following the advice I was given and getting plenty of rest.

    Hope it settles down soon.
Here I go again on my own....

i was sick most days unitl 15 weeks. i found ginger biscuits really did work, or any biscuits really as they were quick and easy to eat (and didnt smell!)
i ate little and often and always ate as soon as i got up. i ate before i got hungry and that seemed to sometimes work.
i didnt find a "cure" though and would spend most of my time sizing up the distance to the loo in tesco/shopping centres/peoples houses!

    Little bit of an update,
Went to see my GP this morning and she gave us 27th December as due date.
Excited and nervous, think DS is more excited about his new kitten.

And at least now i know why i wanted to cry at nothing in particular all weekend. :D
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
    ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Due date will be 28th December...(Do you think this gets me out of cooking Christmas dinner?)

My first baby was due on the 22nd December, and my Dad kept teasing me saying I'd done it deliberately to get out of cooking Christmas dinner, and he still expected me to cook.

Baby arrived at 36 weeks so was born in November instead, so Dad did get his Christmas dinner cooked by me after all :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....
