With the morning sickness, I found it was better to throw up than try to prevent throwing up.

If I tried and stop myself from being sick, I just felt sickly all day. If I threw up, I got it out of the way and felt better.

    Just something to try anyway!

MS went when I was about 14 weeks gone so hopefully it should settle down soon.
Here I go again on my own....

some people swear by sea sickness bands, and although I really don't know what these are, it may be a problem wearing these because you can't hide them under your sleeve in hot weather.

I can recommend the wrist bands as although they didn't stop the nausea, they certainly lessened it. I was never physically sick, just felt sick all the time. I've got quite small wrists so the seabands you can buy in Boots weren't so good for me. The best ones I found were called acustrap which you can find on ebay, with velcro, and you can tighten them so that the nodule thing really digs in your wrist (that's how they work, acupressure on a certain part of your wrist).

Here's a linky to a completed auction on ebay so you can see what I'm talking about. I know you're not really meant to link to ebay auctions, hence using a completed one. Hope that's ok any mods that may be watching - needs must when it comes to MS ;)

The thing with MS is that it often has that nausea feeling, and great if you can throw up, but often you can't.

At least when you are nausea and it isn't MS, when you do throw up, you feel so much better.

    Disgusting chit chat ...

Does anybody have any great ideas about how to stop morning sickness?

Some say that MS is worse when you are stressed and busy, so try and relax and rest as much as you can.

Having said that I seem to be sicker on days when I am not at work. Perhaps less time to think about it.

Pregnancy is great isn't it :D

You read all these books about "blooming" and "preganacy glow", yet I've never experienced any of it.

I was sick and tired all the time in the first trimester and I developed SPD in the second trimester. Now I'm in the third, my bump has grown too much and they think I've got too much fluid. Having a scan on Tuesday to find out exactly what is going on.

Instead of blooming and glowing, I just feel knackered, washed out and fed up, but you never see that written in the books  :D

It'll all be worth it in the end, when we've got our baby to cuddle though

I definitely found that my MS got worse if I was tired or stressed and even now at 22 weeks I can be sick if I've done too much and feel sick most days still. The only thing that helped was to eat little and often and mainly boring carbs. I get brought breakfast in bed still (hey I'm not telling him I'm not sick every morning still ;) ) as eating before I got up made it a lot less likely I'd be upchucking first thing. Cleaning my teeth was the worst thing though... :o

we went to our local NCT sale today

thankfully we're just signing up for NCT antenatal classes so we got in before the hoards otherwise I think I would have run away crying as it was a real scrum. We didn't buy much as we're not really ready to just yet but they had all sorts of bargains. Pramettes for about £20-30 a 3wheeler travel system for £50 not to mention storllers for next to nothing. Loads of big toys and things too. We just bought a few clothes as we know we'll get given a load of stuff. They sort clothes into age and sex and have everything up to school age at least. Well worth it if you have one locally but you really do need to get there early!

Does SPD creep up on you slowly or happen overnight? I have been having twinges for a week or so, but today I feel like I've spent all of yesterday exercising... Stiff and pained. I really don't want this 'symptom' and am going to get an appointment with someone tomorrow to talk me out of it - pain can be psychological right? :(
