maternity clothes... H&M, New Look, Peacocks are all cheap and fashionable (only larger stores will have maternity sections though) topshop and Warehouse also do maternity, Red Herring at Debenhams and ebay... there's loads out there but don't rush into buying maternity wear, I'm 22 weeks and most of the bottoms (over bump ones) are still too big and I can still fit into my larger tops (mrs jtotheb may get bigger quicker with twins though)

I'm just about to place an order from Vertbaudet - there's a code for £10 off in the Bounty pack, plus you get free delivery and a cute Dormouse (!) sleeping bag for free.

We're not allowed to post Vertbaudet codes here but if anyone's interested, I've got it. ;)

They're quite expensive, but with £10 off and a free gift plus free delivery it's quite good. :)

I used Ebay to collect a nice little wardrobe. Maternity clothes are very popular though, so prices aren't too low (not 99p). I bought stuff to wear from 12 weeks, as am podgy already - I just got a size smaller and they fit like a glove now. A nice comfy glove. I do have a few items in my own size - which I am still drowning in. For tops, I have plenty of my normal ones to keep me covered.

Can I join the club too. I know its a bit late at 23+1 but I only recently started reading various boards after being injured at work in March. I now have time but a bad back/shoulder which can be very inconvenient for most things. Query though, how do you get seem every month? I've only been seen twice so far not even after anomoly scan at 22 weeks.

    Hi Ella,

We're being seen more regularly because my wife's having twins. As such, the consultant is keen to keep a close eye!
  • ive just read the reuseable nappy guide link on the first page, can i just say to anyone thinking of using reuseables, you can get enough to do you birth through to potty with accessories like nappy buckets, wet nappy bag etc for under £100 and all can be washed at 40oC rather than 60 to save money. I only wash at 60 once a month.
for cheap maternity wear go to the next sale shop, i got my trousers for £4 rather than £26!! and a cardi for £3 and a few tops etc dead cheap when i was pg

I think the change is quite gradual, it's not like you wake up when you're 13 weeks and are suddenly full of beans :D (I wish!)

I completely agree, I remember whingeing to the midwife about how tired I felt at 12 weeks and wasn't I supposed to feel better by then ... she just shrugged and said "14 weeks, you'll maybe feel better then". I was well past 16 weeks before I started to feel less worn out and flakey.

I'm only 26 weeks and I'm starting to tire again, but I've suddenly gained a lot of weight, and I'm up rearranging pillows and peeing half the night, so I think it's just one of those things. I certainly wouldn't go as far as saying I felt 'energised' during the second trimester though ... that would be a bit of an overstatement! :D
  • Does anyone else have a Sure Start Children's Centre in their area? I have only just discovered mine and I started a course of Antental Parent Education classes last week. They also run Breathing & Relaxation classes for women over 24 weeks. I have also found out about Aqua Natal classes and Ante Natal Yoga and all the activities are free!

I replied to another thread about these classes and just wondered if everyone was aware of these Centres?

*groan* I had one of those nights last night, with the baby lying on my bladder so I must've got up for the loo about half a dozen times. I just couldn't get comfortable no matter what - I think the big dinner last night didn't help (and the biscuits I had after dinner :o) :rotfl:

So no, I wouldn't say I'm energised either... just not as zombie-like as I was a few weeks ago :p
