Do you girls actually wear stuff like this (as seen in a pregnancy book I got as a present from MIL)??

Ye gods  , I can't see Mrs Steveeeee wearing those! She'd kill me if I bought them for her!

Anyone got much experience of Braxton Hicks contractions? I seem to have been getting rather a lot of them today.....they're not painful enough to be the real thing, but at the same time I'm feeling a weird pressure 'down below'. I'm 35+1 and starting to get a bit worried!

My wife had a midwife appointment on Thursday and was told that she was in the middle of a Braxton Hicks contraction! What we'd thought was baby pushing and making her tummy really tight, is actually her uterus contracting. So now we know and she's been watching out for them, it turns out they're happening a few (maybe 6-8) times a day. They don't hurt but now that she knows what to feel for she says she can spot them coming on. She's 29+3.

    No way!!!!

I've mainly worn jeans, cords or business wear trousers depending on what I'm doing that day. For tops, I've got blouses or casual tops that just have a little extra fabric in, so they sort of flow over your bump, rather than hide it in lots of gathers. I've got 2 dresses, a black knee length one and a longer beige linen one, which are fitted to the waist and then flow and they both look quite elegant.

For kicking around at home I've just bought cheapo jogging bottoms (like £3 in Asda!) a few sizes larger than normal with baggy t-shirts and more recently I'm pinching hubby's t-shirts!

I've had an odd few Braxton-Hicks contractions as well. Use them to practice your breathing exercises with.
Here I go again on my own....

I've just been wearing jeans or maternity trousers, and the lovely smock tops that are everywhere at the moment (some of them have been proper maternity tops, some have just been normal ones). If you have boobs, get the styles that are sort of empire line, that go in under the bust and then flair out - they're really flattering, even when your bump is HUGE!

The contractions seem to have stopped now thank goodness apart from the odd twinge. I've been getting quite a lot of braxton hicks contractions, but they seemed a bit too regular yesterday. Thankfully they didn't get any more painful and I managed to watch Doctor Who in peace (which was what I was REALLY bothered about lol).

    Tee hee :rotfl:

I've hated dungarees since I was about 4 and had to wear red corduroy dungarees and everyone thought I was a little boy (I did have a very unfortunate haircut at the time as well :o), but that's another story. :rotfl:

However, I have read a post by a pg lady on another forum who said that she's really looking forward to wearing pregnancy dungarees - and she was being serious! (Maybe it's her bidding on these ones :o) Horses for courses is all I can say.

I had to be induced last time and I hated it.....I think being induced by David Tennant would be a much nicer experience!
