Hi Snaggles...
I did try three times with DFW SOA before I was pregnant. I can't seem to ever get it right though so it doesn't seem easy for anyone to help. Ho hum.
You know... I didn't think about benefits.... My son may be entitled to Carers allowance which would help. but also I may become entitled to Working Tax Credits.... Hmmmm, thanks Snaggles!April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
There's a site called entitledto.co.uk, where you can check what you are entitled to, it's quite good although you do need to have quite a bit of info to hand. Hope you manage to work something out!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Twinges amounted to nothing
Oh well, maybe next time
I know what you mean about working - I've been working full time since DS was 2, but most of my salary goes on his childcare. Not sure how I can afford to put 2nd child into childcare and go back. I looked at putting them in part-time, but the cost of 3 days a week would eat up my entire full-time salary!!!!
Will wait until tax credits etc get sorted out for the forthcoming year and then decide....I know I don't want to stop working completely...0 -
Anyone got much experience of Braxton Hicks contractions? I seem to have been getting rather a lot of them today.....they're not painful enough to be the real thing, but at the same time I'm feeling a weird pressure 'down below'. I'm 35+1 and starting to get a bit worried!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Just wanted to say thanks to all for the usefull information in this thread.
We were due on the 3rd of Aprill & on the 30th of march had a lovely baby girl (Madelaine)
crazy on the day - my GF woke up with pains around 5:00am we were told to have 2 paracetemol & a warm bath but after the paracetemol things got more painful so we headded to the hospital which is for the best because on the way her waters broke in my car & we were only in the hospital for 8 mins before the baby was delivered at 7:15!
A bit of a shock (we almost had it in the lift at the hospital!) but from what I know of long labours it's the right way to do it!
all is going really well - even getting more sleep than I thought I would, good luck all.
cheers,

Congrats. That's a beautiful name for a girl.
Just a warning - the 'getting more sleep' stage doesn't last that long (unless you are very lucky!) so don't get lulled into a false sense of security. Make the most of it whilst it lasts!

why do hospitals tell women to do this? my sister and my mate were both told to "take 2 paracetamol" - for a woman going into labour - surely thats the equivalent of a bandaid for a gunshot wound!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY
