does any one know how long they let you go before they induce you..?

It depends on lots of things - buy if you've had a straightforward pg they will often leave you for at least 7 days before broaching the possibility of induction.

Poor you saver mum - I went over by 2 weeks with my first, it felt like forever. I think they normally see you at 41 weeks, and book you in for an induction then - it then just depends how quickly they can fit you in I think. They don't tend to let you go past 42 weeks though normally.

In some countries (France springs to mind, but I could be wrong), 'normal' gestation is classed as 41 weeks, rather than 40, so you're not unusual.

Justie thanks for your reply re: codeine, bandage and journey. I survivied trip to Devon, although I was in constant pain. After a good night's sleep with a pillow between my leg I felt a lot better. I am getting some pain now and then but I am so much better than Thursday. Thanks for your advice.

With DD1 I went 10 days over. On 40+7 I had an appointment which booked me in for an induction on 40+12 IIRC. It's annoying going overdue but I think it is more normal to go over than for baby to come on time :rolleyes:

DD2 came two days after due date, but only because I had a planned section:D. I'd had absolutely no signs of her coming of her own accord, so expect I'd have gone well over with her too.

Don't be disheartened saver mum, your little one will be here very soon even if time is dragging at the moment.

Hi everybody!

Just added myself to the EDD list on the 23rd of May... for our first.
Everything has been fine so far, just a little bit itchy but has calmed down a lot lately.

So we have just 6 weeks to go... :eek:

Poor you - I know how it feels.

My first was 2 weeks late - was induced - they started the induction on the Friday and it was the Sunday before they could break my waters. Although labour was quite quick after that.

My second was 10 days late.

My third is due tomorrow but I am not holding my breath. I've a midwife appointment tomorrow so I'll see what she says.

Oh and in desperation, I've got a curry for tea tonight with fresh pineapple for pudding :rolleyes:

(Didn't work on the other 2 but here's hoping )

I'm already booked for an antenatal appointment at 40+7 - apparently it's common practise here.

Really hoping it's not going to come to that. DS was born at 38 weeks, and I was born at 37, so hopefully this one will not rebel and want to be different.

With my first I was given a 41 week appointment very early in pregnancy. This time I'm 37+2 and I have no more hospital appoinments. Will they just call me up if I'm overdue and make one?
