Hi everyone, I have just found out today that I am pregnant! That makes me about 5 weeks. So now I am just praying that everything goes as well as it did with my first. Got to remember what food etc I should avoid now though...???

    Hello,

I have been off work due to work related stress and I think i'm going to be made redundant shortly/paid off! Anyway i've found out that I'm 9 weeks pregnant, would i be entitled to anything? Maternity payments etc. It's a horrible thought having to apply for jobs knowing that i'm going to be showing shortly, obviously i will have to tell them i'm pregnant!
Any ideas what i could claim?

It's a shame really as i was 10 years at my last job so would have been entitled to a lot of maternity pay!!

Please make sure you inform your employer that you are pregnant. I am sure it will make a difference to whether you are finally made redundant. Check with your sol, but I am sure they will agree !!

    hello! Can I join in? I'm 5 weeks :j :j :j

Could someone tell me what it means when people say they are 17+2 etc? Whats the extra 2?

Also could anyone advise me on when I should go and see a doctor? I have had 2 miscarriages before, both very early on, so every hour I am still pregnant seems like an achievement ... I don't want to rush off to the doctors and have it all fall through.

I'm hoping for third time lucky!!

Hi Gemma (and all other newbies!) make sure you read post 1 and then add yourself to 'The List'!

Congrats! 17+2 etc means 17 weeks and 2 days. HTH!

I went to see my Dr at 4 weeks who then referred me to the midwife. I saw her about 2 weeks later and then had to wait for my dating scan letter to arrive. When I called to make an appointment they tried to make me wait until 12 weeks but I told them I had previously miscarried and they booked me in at 9 weeks (turned out to be 9+5!).

I hope everything goes well for you. Let us know how you get on xxx

Congratulations and welcome to the board.

I waited until this week (my 9th I think) before I contacted Dr as this whole pregnancy thing seems to take ages and ages.

However, as you have MC before, I would contact your Dr and seek further advise.

Thanks. That makes me 5 + 5. Guess I'd better phone the doctor!

I think I'll wait a bit before adding myself to the list ... I'm terrified of cursing this somehow (I'm pregnant, I don't have to be rational :rotfl: )

gemma nothing about pregnancy is rational :rotfl:

hello all you newbies and congrats :T

I had my 20 week scan today and all is well - although he wouldn't keep still enough for them to get the measurements easily and he's been very active all day... making his presence felt  I'm very relieved though as I was worried in case anything was wrong.
