I have been really poorly with MS lately. Last couple of nights, I have been ill really late at night (in addition to the normal first thing in the morning).

I seem to be wretching / burping all day long, which I can handle, but being so physcially ill late at night is soooo horrible. It doesn't go away until I have got rid of everything.

I reckon I am in my 9th week, so know that there is still weeks more of this. In fact first and second time rounds, I didn't really stop getting MS until 21 and 19 weeks (felt baby moving).

Just just feeling sorry for myself.
  • :grouphug: for izoom! I know how you are feeling....I suffered really badly with all day sickness until week 11 and it was so difficult keeping it from my family (we decided not to tell until week 12 following my M/C last year). It didn't help that I craved citrus drinks which probably made things worse! Hope you feel better soon xxx

    Edited :grouphug: for nadnad too!

i sympathise izoomzoom. im about 7 weeks now and for the last 5 days i've felt wretched really wretched. i've been offer work since friday - i really couldnt have went in and feel bad about it - i intend to go back tomorrow i just hope i can cope. i know i cant stay at home until this passes, but i literally havent been able to stand up or move too much - im not actually vomiting but the nausea is terrible and i retch every couple of minutes. i've found sniffing an orange skin is helping strangely enough. and sucking ice lollys. im eating anything that takes my fancy because i figure anythings better than nothing.
i hope this passes soon, i love being pregnant but this is wiping me out. and i have to go to work, and i'm trying to keep it secret til ive had my scan which is in another 6 weeks - if im this ill at work they'll all guess.
im feeling very sorry for myself. and i feel guilty about it, because im so happy to be pregnant.
    DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY ;)

Thanks for your sympathies nadnad and Septemberbaby.

I have managed to eat this morning, so feel a bit better, but I am reluctant to eat, in case it decides to come all out later today. My tummy seems to be a bit upset too, so it may not just be the MS.

I have fortunately had the last three days off, so have been relaxed, but have to back at work this afternoon. We are gearing up for Easter, which is an incredibly busy time for us, so hopefully I will be too busy to be ill.

For those suffering with ms, have you tried wearing the seasickness wrist bands? I wore them full time for a couple of months. They weren't a cure by any means, but made the nausea a bit more bearable - don't think I could have got through the working day without them.

You have my sympathy, ms is the pits.

is it really "like a butterfly" and will i KNOW when i have felt it?

also, just wanted to ask, does every1 else get a sharp uncomfortable pain when they sneeze or cough? i do, is that normal?
    Hi emma

Yes the first time I felt baby it was like a butterfly and was so obviously not wind or anything else but now it's more solid and sometimes I wonder if I'm just hungry but if I press on where it is then I get a kick back as if to say gerrof and my OH can feel it now but I know I felt everything pretty early (16 weeks for first and now 19 weeks) lots of women don't feel anything till they're well into their 20s weeks...

I wouldn't say it hurts when I sneeze but the abs muscles definitely tense and it's uncomfortable - I quite often say ow just cos it's a strong feeling rather than pain as such. All your stomach muscles are working extra hard at the moment and with the baby they have something to tense against so it feels very different. Keep up the pelvic floor exercises so you don't get leakage ;)

Enjoy the honeymoon! And I'm terrified about my scan too even though I can feel the baby, I think it's just normal... at least I only have to wait until tomorrow for mine now.

I found that eating something plain like toast helped ease the nausea and if I timed it right could stave off sickness. I'm now only usually sick first thing and that's rarely now and often if my OH isn't about to bring me toast in bed.

I find that if I'm over tired or stressed then I'm much more likely to be sick...

It is funny, I have five packs of ginger nuts in the cupboard, which I just can't bring myself to eat. And normally, I would have no trouble eating a packet a day !

i havent felt any movement yet, but im sure thats normal, is it really "like a butterfly" and will i KNOW when i have felt it?

I felt mine at 20wks and I didn't really get the butterfly thing, I got wriggly little fish! It went to quite big kicks that OH could feel (through my many layers of padding :o) within a couple of weeks, so I suspect I just didn't notice any early movements! Now I'm getting battered most days (24wks)

The sneezing pain seemed to ease for me at around the same time, although I've also learned to avoid it by kind of curling my legs up to my tummy when I feel it coming, especially in bed. I think at that stage I was also subconsciously holding in my multiple tummies - now I am giving in to my new extra-fatness and the relaxed muscles mean less tearing pains when I have a surprise sneeze.

Have a fabulous hoilday and try not to worry until the scan, it'll be wonderful!

(i get really paranoid after a MC last year - sorry )

I've always found that kicks feel like, erm, someone very small kicking/headbutting you from the inside :rotfl: Or it's certainly a very large butterfly! :p

And yes, I think I know the pain you're talking about, it's your ligaments. I get it sometimes when I sneeze, cough, laugh, get up too quickly etc. It's really low down, sort of by the bikini line on one side, and usually makes me double over and freaks everyone else out! :rotfl:
