I just wanted to introduce myself.

Found out we are expecting our third this week and we are in shock. Our youngest is 5 and we got rid of all our baby stuff years ago.

Am feeling pretty yuk at the moment - so incredibly tired and visiting the loo, and my throat is sore too. Have had a bit of MS so again I haven't got off from it this time. And I just want to cry.

Haven't been in touch with the doctors yet, figure this is gonna be a long pregnancy so no point in rushing things along. Will add my details then, because I really don't have a clue what date to use.

Recognise some of you from the MS board (just realised more than one meaning to MS). That has gone to pot because I had already developed porridge brains.

Oh well, I am sure I'll perk up in a couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rubbish - I think we've all been there (and still feel rubbish every now and then :rolleyes:). Hope the yuckiness isn't going to last too long for you.

Hello! I'm 32 weeks pregnant now, and am getting to the stage where I just want it all over with. I feel enormous, I'm completely freaked out about the birth, I'm tired, moody, cross with everyone and everything....:o

Don't know why I suddenly feel like this, as I've been fairly even tempered and happy through the rest of the pregnancy, even though I've had horrible morning sickness, a bereavement and SPD to contend with.

I finish work in 2 weeks, and I can't wait - I feel like it's only a matter of time before I forget to bite my tongue and snap someones head off. :rolleyes:

Hi all, I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (although I'm now about 14 or 15 weeks. Finally over the first three months which were awful, I was really groggy, tired and nauseous this time (it's my fourth). I never had that with the other three so I'm looking forward to finding out everything is okay tomorrow. Once I have a date I will add myself to the list. I am slightly nervous because I'm a lot older than last time (34 now!) and as this baby wasnt planned still ate drank and smoked over December/January!! Anyway, wish me luck (and please tell me its not going to be twins I'm huge already!!)

Congratulations Sarah, good luck for tomorrow. I had bad morning sickness this time around and was extremely tired at first, but people kept telling me 'a sick pregnancy is a healthly pregnancy'! I'm 32, I was 26 the first time, and I can honestly say it has been much harder this time around. But I'm in a bad mood today (see above grumpy post lol) - if you'd caught me on another day I would have probably said it's better being a more relaxed, more experienced, slightly older Mum!

PS Do you have twins in the family??

Hi everyone, just confirmed today that I'm pregnant (did a test a few days ago but the line was so faint I didn't believe it and I had to do a test while my husband was home coz I don't think he belived it either!)

Feeling a little strange. Excited obviously but mostly just nervous. Am going to try very hard not to tell anyone for a few weeks - apart from you guys here but that's different.

One question. I've recently taken up jogging (was going to do the Great North Run but I think that's on hold now) am I still ok to run a bit or should I just stick to less intensive exercise.

Hi Jo, congratulations!

Some women do carry on running until quite late into the pregnancy, but I think it's probably people who are either athletes or have been running for years. You might find it more comfortable to do less high impact exercise if you're fairly new to it. I seem to remember that jogging is considered a safe form of exercise during pregnancy, but I would have a chat to your midwife about it and take their advice.

I carried on with my body balance class up until i was 32 weeks, Body Balance is a mixture of Yoga, Pilates and Thai-chi..
still quite hard work but less intensive that jogging... impact wise..
I just had to be careful of some of the moves but your instructer will be able to advise you ..
I recomend the 15mins relaxtion bit at the end...just had to try not to snore..
it was a bit diifferent to my usual excercise rouitine of body combat and vody pump..
now its more a case of pass me the remote control!!
still they have a new craze out now called "pram pushing" which you do after the baby is born..
if i make it out of my dressing gown more than 2 day in a row i may partake..
how long is a baby in a pram for ..just out of interest...:rotfl:

That's what I have found too.

When I had my first son, I was 21 and working in a microbiology lab handling food that could contain nasties like listeria and salmonella. I gave up work as soon as I found out I was pregnant as I didn't want to take the risk of catching anything.

I had my second son when I was 23, and I had a part time temping job in an office a few miles from home. I only worked a 4 hour shift and was sitting at a desk doing clerical work so that was easy too.

I'm 31 now and I'm self employed doing merchandising, auditing and mystery shopping. I'm in and out of home all day, so it'a quite physically demanding and my hours vary depending on what work I have on.

I think a combination of my older age, and the more physical job is taking it's toll on me.

Still not long to go - starting maternity leave on 30th April. Would rather do that so I can stay off work right over Christmas which is traditionally a lean spell in my job and go back next Jan

Trying (again) for number two. Hopefully won't take the fourteen months it took first time round. Congratulations to everybody who is newly expecting! Am charting my bbt for the first time as my cycles have started messing about which is taking some of the wild symptom seeking away from it, and is being quite reassuring that it seems to be going normally. Does anybody who is doing the same thing know if at the end of a cycle your temps go down in steps or if it is on big drop and then your period? I have chart examples of both....Thanks in advance.
