I told everyone pretty much as soon as I found out....just couldn't help myself, I was so excited. I couldn't have waited until I was 12 weeks though as I was soooooooo sick, everyone would have guessed anyway, and I thought, well, if something goes wrong, I would probably tell people anyway, so I might as well share the good news.
I found it odd not having a pregnancy test at the doctors too - I was convinced I would go to the scan and they would say 'err.....there's no baby there...'"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
my doctor did do a pregnancy test which i was surprised about becuase everyone else i know didnt get one, but apparently its standard procedure in my GP - well i get the result on wednesday - but as ive done 4 tests myself i think the result is pretty conclusive! i'm glad im not the only one who couldnt wait until 12 weeks - anyhow i cant stop smiling so im sure my mum would have worked something out! that and the non stop peeing! i thought that only happened when you get a lot bigger and further on - but apparently its normal -somthing to do with the hormones making the bladder extra sensitive.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I'm really worried.
DH brought DS from nursery a while ago and said they told him they've had a case of slapped cheek disease. Nursery know I'm pregnant, so they warned that it might affect pregnant women.
I've always thought slapped cheek is something fairly non-sinister, but now I've loked it up on the NHS Direct site and others, it says that it could be really dangerous if you're under 20 weeks pregnant (I'm 17 tomorrow). Basically it could cause miscarriage or stillbirth.
Apparently 60% of people are immune to it, but unless you know you've had it, you don't know whether you're immune or not. I don't think I've had it, so would need a blood test to find out if I'm immune. (I suspect not as that would just be my luck. I found out in my last pg I wasn't even immune to rubella for some reason.)
So here I am, worried like hell. Can't do anything about it until tomorrow, so it's going to be a fun night.
I really really don't want to be dealing with this right now.0 -
awwwww *hugs* Dormouse. Don't know what to say as it's not something I've heard of before.
Try and relax and take your mind off it until tomorrow. Go and do something like have a soak in the bath or watch a girly film. It'll do you more good than sitting worrying and looking up more stuff on the net (I'm guilty of doing that)
Here I go again on my own....0 -
Oh dormouse, sorry to hear you're so worried. I hope you are okay - try not to panic (not easy I'm sure).
Firstly, you could be immune to it, secondly, you might not have been exposed to it, and thirdly, if you do catch it, it's not definite that it would cause a problem for the baby. But I'm sure that's not much consolation to you while you are feeling so worried.
Try not to spend the night panicking - take care xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi Nadnad, and congratulations. we told everybody at about the same time as you, my OH couldn't keep his mouth shut! I also had a similar problem with my boobs, they were roughly the same size as you and have only just settled down now and I'm now 14 weeks. They took my signature away!!!!0

Mr Moon - your post did make me laugh - it's a LONG LONG time till September :rotfl:
You're right, pregnancy isn't a disease, it's a condition - a lovely condition, but one that requires a little extra support and pampering......and weeding is banned, in fact, it's actually against the law!
Have fun and try to enjoy it!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
