Thanks for your posts guys - make me 'feel' better. DH cooked roast beef yesterday and I couldn't eat it because of the smell. He looked a little hurt when I dug into two slices of toast with marmite a couple hours later :o managing some fruit but not so good with veg.

Although I've been lucky & didn't actually get sick, I went off loads of things I usually eat. When I did feel a bit queasy, the things I found easiest to eat were things like mini cheddars, strongly flavoured yoghourts, fruit juice that's not acidic (like apple or apple & mango etc). The oddest thing (for me anyway) was that I had a bit of a craving for cheap chocolate like Mars & Snickers bars - sorry if that's your thing! - when I usually go for Green & Blacks organic choc. That's gone now, but I'm now not able to eat much at a sitting before I feel full; anyone else like that?

I had that problem but it seems to have improved in the last week or two. It was like my skin wasn't expanding fast enough to accomodate the baby and sufficient space in my stomach at the same time. I would even feel hungry but "stuffed" at the same time. Bizarrely in the last couple of weeks my bump has got much bigger but the problem seems to have reduced.

I'm like that - can't tuck into a plate of meat and veg any more, and tatties ... bleurgh. Full after a few mouthfuls ... but I'm starving! I'm only 12 and a bit weeks, if I feel like this right the way through I might even avoid getting too fat!

And I've not exactly been craving, because I like it anyway, but I've had serious hankerings for dairy stuff. Milkshakes, cheese and yoghurt especially, less fussed for icecream. Seriously weird!
  • Been to see the Midwife today and all seems well and I've been booked in for my 1st scan on 8th Feb. Although she has warned me I have a higher chance of twins as my Dad is a twin and my Mum's cousins are twins! 1st baby and they could be 2 of them!!!! My parents have named bump as "jack/jackie" rather than referring it baby as it, but as my Mum pointed out (she thought she was funny) it could be Jack and Jill! And I was called Oscar! Does anyone else have this idea to have a pet name for baby before its born or is it just my bizarre family?!

Hope you are feeling better EmmaB, I've been keeping up to date but been so busy to get 2 minutes to myself to post! Just wanted to say a huge thank you for putting my mind at rest when I starting bleeding after Christmas and having only just MC'd in Oct, I thought here we go again. Also thanks to everyone on this forum for making me feel normal and not the only one who could win gold medal if they would include being sick as an olympic sport! I've having really bad headaches, feeling sick most of the day and being sick in the mornings and people tell me I'm supposed to feel good, please tell me they are trying to be funny!!

After our scare after Christmas little one seems to holding so fingers crossed this little un's a fighter! This was only going to be a short post, sorry people

Oh emma, try to stay positive. It's outwith your control anyway, so do your best not dwell on it today. Could you think of a friend who would take you out tonight, or even just set you up with a DVD and some icecream? Distraction might help time pass quicker until your scan.

    Thinking of you x
