my GP didnt say anything to me, no1 has talked to me about mc and future pregs so im really confused and scared!!
Wow emma_b, i really feel for you, my GP told me that miscarriages are way more common than people realise and that in the vast majority of cases there is no particular reason for it happening. Have a look at https://www.pregnancyloss.info and there are loads of other websites, just type "miscarriage information" into google. They all say that most women who miscarry go on to have successful pregnancies. Recurrent miscarriages only happen to 1% of women so things look pretty good!0 -
Hi can i join please? I am currently 23 weeks with my second.

I am due on 22nd may, and hopefully am having a home water birth.

lesleydejager wrote:question...we conceived number one baby by happy accident, then I conceived again within 4 weeks of comeing off the pill but lost that pregancy 6 weeks in. Now we seem to be having trouble getting another one cooking and I need some advise about ovulation / fertile times and all that. When are you supposed to be most fertile? I have seen in other posts something about 5 days into your cycle? Is that right, and where do you start counting from??? I don't want to get obsessive about it but I also don't want to miss the window cos we're too tired or something!!
I explained it to someone else in post #1407, it was a bit of long one which is why I haven't reposted it. The main thing depends on the length of your cycle eg if 28 days you will ovulate around day 14 and so will be fertile approx 2-3 days before this.
Best of luck, and please remember just becuase you have caught quickly before and you aren't catching immediately this doesn't mean there is anything wrong, there is only a 25% chance of falling pregnant each month in completely health couples and they can sometimes take up to a year to fall.0 -
Just thought I'd check in to say hello - no news to report yet - I might get some pineapple later while I'm having a walk :j0

Oooh I was thinking about you yesterday actually, wondering if there was any news yet. Sex is meant to bring on labour.... though not while you're taking a walk obviously.

Hi all, I'm not pregnant at the moment but my hubby and i are considering it. We have a daughter who is almost 18 months.
Just got a comment for Andrea, I was 6 days overdue and tried alsorts to get my daughter to hurry up, i was eating 2 whole pineapples a day at one point! We were having sex, eating curries too and I had an almighty bust up with someone but she didn't budge an inch! I hope you have better luck than I did!
Has anybody here every had a coil fitted? I did after daughter was born and we're thinking of trying of another once she's had her second birthday which is july. Wondered how long it might take for periods to get back to 'normal'. Since having coil I have a period, if you can call it that, which lasts maybe half a day. This happens maybe 3 or times a year.

Coming back to parents not being married, I believe one problem could occur in theory, if your child needed written consent for surgery/medical interventions and only dad was available to sign. The hospital may not accept consent from a dad with a different surname.
In practice, the child's consultant plus one other doctor would give executive consent for the treatment, if it was urgent, and mum was unavailable.

Having a miserable week, spent Thursday night in the antenatal ward being rehydrated due to D&V, now I feel exhausted and just want to sleep all the time.
I was assessed on the birthing unit as my abdominal pain could have been early labour (i'm 25 weeks) and I could hear other ladies new babies crying, so I was feeling very fed up.:(
We have booked a 'last holiday as a couple' week in the peak district in a cottage for when my maternity leave starts in 4 weeks time so I hope I feel better by then.
I have decided to go on maternity leave as soon as possible as my job involves long hours, and lifting, bending and standing for long periods.ISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF

thanks Welshlassie. I am trying to stay positive about it, my main concern really is that I had to have a colposcopy and a biopsy from my cervix last year due to an abnormal smear (they found grade 2 'pre-cancer' cells on my cervix). My GP told me this shouldn't affect my chance of conceiving and carrying a pregnancy to term but I have read other reports on the web that say it can lead to an incompetent cervix...which I believe can cause recurrent miscarriage??0 -
I've read that raspberry leaf tea can bring on labour as can nipple stimulation - apparently!
I dont know how long you would have to do this for though.:rolleyes:ISA £1675MiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF
