question...we conceived number one baby by happy accident, then I conceived again within 4 weeks of comeing off the pill but lost that pregancy 6 weeks in. Now we seem to be having trouble getting another one cooking and I need some advise about ovulation / fertile times and all that. When are you supposed to be most fertile? I have seen in other posts something about 5 days into your cycle? Is that right, and where do you start counting from??? I don't want to get obsessive about it but I also don't want to miss the window cos we're too tired or something!!

Hi all, just thought I'd join the club on behalf of my wife who's currently in her 17th week with our first, due on June 28th. 12 week scan was fine (click for image), and recent checkup with doc also went well. We bought a foetal heart monitor which we use to check in with baby every now and then. It sounds very active, and my wife says she's starting to feel its movements. Can't wait for the 20 week scan so we can have another look and find out if we're having a boy or a girl!

Bit scared but also very excited. Nervous about how our finances are going to hold up during maternity leave, and with nursery costs after she goes back to work. Which is why I'm on this site, reading about how to save money. :T

Advice I heard was you start counting from first day of last period. If your cycle is 28 days start trying on days 12,14,16 and 18 as this is the best time. hth Rachel

my scan is on tuesday, i should be around 7 weeks by then and hoping to see a heartbeat. this is 2nd pregnancy, 1st one ended last year in MC so really papping our pants for tuesday...........cross your fingers for us xxxxxx

good luck with your scan Emma B, my 2nd pregnancy ended in MC last Septemer so I can understand how u r feeling, we haven't managed to get PG again yet. I hope it all goes well for you, I'm sure your GP told you at the time as mine did that having a MC doesn't affect your chances of conceiving and having a normal healthy pregnancy so try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know!):rolleyes:

Money-saving tip from my midwife - use only cotton wool and water to clean baby's bottom while you're at home. It saves on wipes, but more importantly means you aren't loading their skin with chemicals. Wipes are fine for convenience while you're out, but doing it this way keeps it cheap and natural at home. :money: :money:

Good luck with your scan Emmab. I am in the same position as you and have a scan a week on Tues after a mmc in June. I had a scan last week but it was too early.

how many weeks are you rachelja? it must be really hard waiting for another scan, tbh thats the news i dont want to hear on tues..i just dont want to wait i wont to know now that all okay, or not okay, either way....

my GP didnt say anything to me, no1 has talked to me about mc and future pregs so im really confused and scared!!
