I thought I'd drop in after seeing Tequila's post about being/feeling sick. My sympathy to everyone going through that. I have hyperemesis and had it with my son too. It means I am sick or feel sick constantly and at 33 weeks it stilll hasn't gone. At its worst for me it means a quick spell in hopsital to have IV fluids and some good anti sickness drugs. Last time I used to throw up blood, but the drugs have been better this time and I'm not sick a dozen times a day this time.
When it's bad, there is nothing anyone can really suggest that will help greatly. But if you're being sick a lot and you are not weeing much, or it's very dark, or you are bringing up blood or feeling very weak, see a doctor or call your midwife. Don't be fobbed off that all pregnant women get sick. It is a serious medical condition and it is safer for the baby to get treatment if needed than struggle along getting malnourished and dehydrated.
I've had enough now. I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to hold this person in my arms. Not long to go... To be honest, I'm looking forward to feeling normal as much as I am looking forward to having my baby. I hope that doesn't sound selfish!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Thank you so much everybody i certanly feel much better now. Thanks LuT for your info, i'm goning to look and see if there is a bithing center near me becase that sound so much better than a hospital...
Gingham Ribbon, i really feel for you being sick is a horrid feeling. I dont think that your selfish for wanting to be back to normal. but everythime that i feel 'peanut' (although it's much bigger than that now) kick or moe i no that its going to be worth it in the end.
JULIE, Congratulations on you little boy. Hope you enjoy your new little one.Tiger-Lily arrived 20th May 2007 6lb 5oz

Hi and congratulations to the new mums-to-be on here and huge congrats Julie!!
Sorry but I couldn't help laughing at the "mini-celeb" comments - if you saw me now you'd see I'm just about the least-celeb like person on the planet - at 5"4 and 11 stone (currently 12 and a half if you include Peanut) I'm the least celeb-looking person you could ever meet. As well as the Parents Club thread, anyone else going to be joining me on the Lose Weight thread after this? :j (that smilie is me exercising afterwards once Peanut's been born!!)
Oh and it was just Braxton Hicks I had on Friday night thank god - plus spending a few hours wandering round Ikea and Asda that evening probably hadn't helped0 -
Oww....
They really hurt today.
So, should they just be raised off the floor, or should they be raised above my hips/knees to get the fluids moving??
It does give me an excuse to lie on the sofa all day. And not to worry about pre-eclamp! I have no other swellings etc, so it is just fat-feet today. I cannot even get my trainers on!0 -

Lu - T and Julie congratulations and everyone else my hormones have got the better of me and know I am crying reading your birth stories. Silly billy!
I am now 14 weeks pregnant and now its 2007 it is beginning to dawn on me the huge changes that are afoot and the things me and my hubby need to do before the lttle one arrives. Like, try and sell our flat in NW London and buy a house in SE London...Sell our new beetle for something more practical for carrying a little one and all their parafanalia, and buy all the things we need fo accommodate a baby. Oh god its all too much!!!0 -
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that I have my first scan tomorrow at 13+2 and I'm absolutely br*cking it. You would think that the many many symptoms, no period since early October, 7 BFP pregnancy tests and the thickening waistline would give it away - but I am absolutely TERRIFIED that there will be nothing there.
Please tell me I'm not the only eejit to have felt like this? If all is well, I'll post on Tuesday and let you know how it went.
Valentine xxx0 -
Andrea - I'm shorter than you, and heavier ... much heavier ... than your pregnant weight, and I'm only 11 weeks! I had to move here from my spiritual home, the Lose Weight thread, so I can vouch for the wonderful gang in there!
To Valentine, I am in the same position as you, I haven't even got my scan date! Terrified of nothing being there, but as you mention, the lack of periods and 12 BFPs (2 different types of preg test, too!) should surely be of some reassurance. I hope tomorrow's fabulous for you :j0 -
Thanks Eels, I like the idea of the Lose Weight thread being your spiritual home. I'll be in there chanting with the best of them!
I've been trying to get away with the bras I've got for the next week (I really didn't want to have to buy new ones just for another week) but having trouble breathing with the ones I do have (especially in the evenings after eating supper) convinced me I needed some more, headed off to Matalan and 40DD is the largest size mine stocked (let's just say I bought them as spares but it's not going to help)
For helping with the flab afterwards my MIL had said there's nothing as good as tummy control underwear to rein it in so while I was there I had a look and they had bodyshaper corset type things for £8 (two of them went straight in the basket)
Edit: slip of the keyboard - just a week, not two!! Any lurkers due in the next week fancy joining while you still can??!!0
