Hello poppet.
You deserve a big hug and a big medal for being so brave. I hope you have been out in the garden. I have taken my best friend out for a birthday meal and she is so wonderful. We must remember our greatest blessings are our wonderful friends and not focus on nasty things.
I have had a fab day. I havent beaten myself up for about 4 hours which is fab!!!! I have even sold some cds on ebay!!!
I hope you are ok.

Thanks Savingwannabe,
Glad that you have had a good day.
Am also sorting out some stuff to Ebay - it is good to keep occupied!
And you are so right about friends and family being so important!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Have finally cracked the technology to prepare an SOA.
Not sure about the formatting, but that is the least of my worries.
Now wondering what will happen - wish I wasn't so worried!

The only reason I have managed up to now is by playing my cards off against each other. Now I am no longer working I do not have the additional cash needed for this!
Also, the interest rates have been racked up unrelentingly!
Can't blame anyone else, though. My own stupid fault!
Mouseann
Arrrghhh, this makes me so mad :-( Clearly the responsibility for taking out the credit cards lies with the OP, however yet again companies act irresponsibly, lending without restraint to an individual, probably on the basis of her being a homeowner.
Then as soon as they believe she may be having difficulties do they offer help, do they b*llocks, the vultures circle and raise their interest rates to see how much they blood they can squeeze out of the stone.
My advice would be to contact NID, provide details and see how many of them are unenforceable0 -
Thanks BLT,
I appreciate your view on this - it was my responsibility but I was hoping events would work out a bit differently!
And I have contacted NID who is giving me some invaluable advice - not sure what I would have done without him (or her?)"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Ann,
Just focus on one day at a time do NOT beat yourself up. Nice people who are v clever will be able to offer advice I am sure based on experience for things as they occur. You can only do your best and you are certainly doing that. We are all proud of the way you are handling this.
Everyone has such strange names. It is like the Dukes of Hazzard on their walkie talkies. Remember?
Big hugs,

Well just opened a well deserved bottle of red wine. I've been on all day sorting paperwork into piles all of my debts Phew!. Ive put them away in their own files until tomorrow night after work when I will go through them more accurately to write off for CA's. They are all unsecured loans totaling around £8500 most taken out more than six years ago I think but I haven't scrutinized them properly yet. I have been concentrating on paying off my priority debts first as I am near to retirement age, so those are fine. I have a quantum gas meter for £400 owed The question I have is do I send off a letter to everyone because I only get pestered by about two of them pesky's and do I send a request to take me of their phone database at the same time.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Exactly that. No more beating your self up. The future is bright0 -

Hi Jinny,
That was exactly what I was thinking! If only someone was brave enough to ask them - making the banks reduce their interest rates to be in line with the Bank of England would have helped - too late for me now, but I am sure there are people out there who would benefit.

To cheer us all up:
A little girl asked her father, 'do all fairy tales begin with "Once upon a time"?
The father replied, 'No, some begin with - If I am elected.'
The government is sneaky. They raise the tax on alcohol, then make sure that the country is in such a mess that you drink more.
Don't vote - it only encourages them.
It's tough being a politician. Half your reputation is ruined by lies the other half is ruined by the truth!
Some people tell political jokes... we HAVE them!
I think, therefore I'm not an MP. - (Member of Parliament)
Only in America......do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
