Thanks Happyhaddock,
I certainly am plodding away - but NID has been soooo helpful to me!
Incidentally, what is a "termination letter", please? Am sure I will be getting some very soon ..."What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Glad you are sorting out the phonecalls. It is good to reduce the stress as much as possible.
Tomorrow is going to be a good day weatherwise, i hope you can get lots done in the garden.
Well done on coping with a very stressful episode. You are very resourceful and a real inspiration to many people.
Good night Ann.

Thanks Savingwannabe,
Weather forecast appreciated!
Gardening (and this discussion board) is helping me retain some normality with everything going on! Difficult to try not to feel guilty if I do things like read or go on the Internet. Have not yet succumbed to day time telly - it's full of politicians at the moment, anyway!
And I am very touched that you think I am resourceful and inspirational, especially as I am still beating myself up about my situation.

Well, apparently they have terminated my credit card and the full amount is now due:eek:. However, as I'm on a DMP with the CCCS they are happy to accept my payments and as long as I don't miss any they won't chase for payment. They will also stop all interest charges after 28 days:T It was all worded a bit stronger than that and very legalise, but I suppose they have to follow procedures and it's nothing that I wasn't expecting:o0 -
Thanks Happyhaddock,
I will be prepared for when these start to arrive - which I don't think will be very long!

I have been seeing a counsellor due to bullying at work. My homework is that i should not be beating myself up too!!!!
Let's try it together my friend. I am so glad there are nice people on here.
Big hugs, goodnight.

Thanks Jinny,
I appreciate your comments.
You are so right: retirement should be a time to wind down and relax, not worry about making ends meet and the dreaded phone calls! I just wish I had taken my head out of the sand before leaving work and faced up to things. Trouble is, as explained earlier, I did have a partner (who ended up costing me more than I could afford, as I was subsidising him when he stayed here!). The plan was that I would sell my house and then move in with him after retirement - but he dumped me! And it is always so much more difficult to manage on a single salary. End of self-pity! Hope that you manage to get things worked out for you so that retirement is more comfortable.
Incidentally, have just found out that BT has a service called "choose to refuse" whereby you can list up to 10 numbers which are then prevented from contacting you. You need to know the numbers concerned and it costs about £3.50 per month - but I think it is worth it, and cheaper than machines which can be used to perform a similar function.
I am going to try it to see if it works!
Example - are you now in hindsight happier without said partner?
Are you now happy to be in charge of and doing something about your current situation? You're in control of it now and your head is in the sand no more:j. If you think about it logically - you can't do any more than you are doing , and you can't change what happene d in the past - but you can your future
Sorry if that seemed like a lecture. You could be my gran or something, and I would have hated her to go through all this and worry herself sick. Do try to take care of yourself, knowing you're now in controlA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hi everyone with reading such positive comments on here I have woken up to feeling quite positive this morning. Not at work today so getting my A into G soon to sort out the template letters to send for the CA's. This reminds me of the last scenes from the film Titanic when the ship is on its end and and finally going down then Leonardo dicaprio says to Kate Kinslet "Well this is it here we go" but she survives and goes on to live to a great age to throw the precious Heart of the Ocean necklace into the sea.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Just wanted to pop in to say well done and keep going, it just goes to show that there is an answer to everything, its usually the finding it that's the difficult thing.
Have a good day, hope it all goes well.More than Two Years in

Hello all,
Have just logged on and am so cheered up by all the supportive and positive comments!
Savingwannabe - sorry to hear about the bullying and that you are beating yourself up! I can totally identify with the "beating yourself up" bit - I am doing it constantly! Let's make a resolution together to try to stop doing it - there are plenty of other people out there who will do the beating up for us!
Thanks Zippychick - I needed a good talking to - and will try to be more positive. You are so right - we can't change what happpened in the past and I did make the decisions for myself, so can't blame anyone else. (Blaming ex is just a cop out!) And I am in control and psychologically better off without him!
Jinny - best of luck with your "journey". Whatever happens I think the feeling that you are trying to do something rather than taking the proverbial "ostrich position" has to be better. Hind-sight again!
Pure dead dopey - thanks for the support.
