The sun has come out so have been doing a spot of gardening. Am going out for a walk later - and I do have a stack of books (passed on to me by friens) to read. Feels a bit lazy after a busy job - but i guess that is what retirement is really about!

    Morning Ann :hello:

Can you confirm you've now sent all the CCA Requests? If so what date did you send them? Did you send them all recorded delivery? If so start to track them and keep a note of the date each was received by the lender as we need this. :D

Enjoy your day of rest, i'm away to walk the mutt in the cold Leeds breeze!

    Morning NID,

Can confirm that I have sent all the CCA requests apart from those for HSBC and First Direct because I am still in the process of changing bank accounts.

    Will start checking their progress.

Thanks again for all your help.

Recorded delivery? As it is Wednesday, spend some time later today (if you can) and start to track their progress - click the button below to be taken to RM Track & Trace:

Hi Mouseann I was given the link for your thread from another lovely peep on here. I too am aproaching retiremement age but i am staying on for as long as possible. I will have no chance of paying all my creditors off by that time and also getting creditors ringing me constantly. I have caller ID on my phone but they often catch me out. We should be looking forward to leaving work not dreading it. I am going to send off for the ca's like you and hopefully get some peace of mind. I wish you every success in this journey, you seem such a nice person. Good Luck

  • Hi Mouseann, just a quick hello:wave: really glad to see you're a little bit more in control:T Keep plodding away, I got my first termination letter today, they seem to have a way of making everything so scary with the wording, but I have just filed it with the other letters and will keep plugging away:D

Take care and keep on posting:A

    Thanks Jinny,

    I appreciate your comments.

You are so right: retirement should be a time to wind down and relax, not worry about making ends meet and the dreaded phone calls! I just wish I had taken my head out of the sand before leaving work and faced up to things. Trouble is, as explained earlier, I did have a partner (who ended up costing me more than I could afford, as I was subsidising him when he stayed here!). The plan was that I would sell my house and then move in with him after retirement - but he dumped me! And it is always so much more difficult to manage on a single salary. End of self-pity! Hope that you manage to get things worked out for you so that retirement is more comfortable.

Incidentally, have just found out that BT has a service called "choose to refuse" whereby you can list up to 10 numbers which are then prevented from contacting you. You need to know the numbers concerned and it costs about £3.50 per month - but I think it is worth it, and cheaper than machines which can be used to perform a similar function.

I am going to try it to see if it works!
