Thattagirl! I hope I didn't offend, but sometimes we just need someone outside ourselves to kick our asses!

Hi Anyone who is still reading lol
Results from my smear (which i had at the same time as i was going to have my coil replaced) and im abnormal - apparently severly so therefore i get to go for what sounds like a lovely investigation called a colposcopy and then probable treatment.
Arent i a lucky lady
Starting to despair now, back is bad, trapped nerve in hip, a coil that has gone awol and i get to have another person "investigate" my privates.
Postive note - its only 2 more days until my ultrasound, friday will tell me where the blighter is

hi puzzled - I know you are going to worry - so i wont tell you not too! hun, abnormal cells just need further investigation - they may well be 'normal' for you! or your smear could have picked up cells from and abrasion or/and ulcer like one of mine did about 11 years ago now. when i got the letter I was really upset and by the time i went for gynae appt already had my will made and was mentally picking my graveyard! turned out that i had a rather large ulcer on the cervix and that was the abnormal cells! I had that treated very quickly and easily but they then found i had endometriosis. which in one way was a relief - i thought that excrutiating pain every month was normal and i was a real wimp! not one gp I had seen about it had seen fit to refer me to a gynaecologist and most of the time i felt that they thought i was making a fuss about nothing.
that was treated to and for the last ten years i have been so thankful for that smear test!!!
I know however reassuring I am - you are going to worry and i totally understand how you feel. just remember that there are other conditions which throw up abnormal cells - not just cancer.0 -
thanks guys

Tandrig - im working on the principle that finding something now even if its a little something is better than missing something and it turning out to be a big problem later.
I think im just a bit more annoyed that its something else to stress about lol, just when i started thinking i was getting healthy again and it all goes to pot, so not fair!0 -
Hi Puzzled.
I don't have much to say except to wish you all the best with your upcoming colposcopy. I have been there and done that so know how you are feeling right now.
Keep thinking positive and whatever happens you will be fine.
All the best,
shelly x:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
HI All,
Well, it is scan day today so i will find out where the coil has gone (hopefully)
i have done a pg test this morning and that has come up as negative so although im dissapointed i know that it is for the best.
Will update later and let you know where the pesky coil has gone, then once this appointment is out of the way i just need to wait for the colopscopy, oh joy lol.

Well, just an update,
Have spoken with Dr now and she says that the strings may re-appear on their own so she can try again, or i can wait and see if the specialist who is going to have a closer look can take it out and fit another one.
If not then it is referral to family planning who might be able to fish it out or do it surgically.
on the positive side its in the correct place and doesnt expire until August so i have a little time yet
Puzzled xx0
