You normally ovulate (but every woman is different) two weeks after the first day of your period, so depending on how long your cycle is, it is very possible to be fertile in the week after a period has finished - indeed it's potentially the best time!
You can try testing four-five days before your period is due, but sometimes a positive won't show until due day itself.
Good luck with whatever happens

            Oh dear
I don't know what you cycle is usually like, but I find with me it goes unprotected sex in fist week after period = pregnant without fail
If you are already pregnant the MAP can't change that, but it won't hurt the baby either.
Talking to your OH is really a good idea. You're doing it all right, if that helps at all
I was the same with all 4 - all pregnant having sex within a day or so from finishing AF so it is possible!
If you and OH decide this chance at being pregnant is something you'd like to continue hoping for then I wish you all the best I also believe in what will be will be :T
All the best Claire xWife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

If it helps OP ours were lousy timing DD1 & DS but they were the best thing to happen to us (as well as DD2 & DD3) and I think most pregnancy's happen when we least afford them etc etc But we all manage OK in the end and I think if we all planned for the perfect time to have children they'd never happen as something always changes plans LOL It sounds like this will be what you both want so heres hoping for you!Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

thank you for all of the advice and help, in the last hour or so ive gone from being a bit worried and paniced to being quite pragmatic about it all.
I am going to go and collect the MAP in a bit and then will speak to OH this evening and decide if i am going to take it or not.
I think i may suggest that from this point on we use Condoms or abstain until we know what is happening with the missing coil and until i get a scan and then leave the rest up to fate.
If nothing happens we can have the new coil fitted as planned and wait, if we are already on our way to a pregnancy then so be it.0 -
First response (pink packet) is 6 days before your first missed period (so 6 days before your period is due). But it is not always reliable so early. It did however pick up DS2 a week before I was due, although I had been throwing up pretty much for a week before that (and kept on throwing up till 24 weeks).
I have to say, at least you found out your coil is missing before you found out you were pregnant! I got a bit of a shock last year (and a wee princess in August)
It's just assumed that most women ovulate 14 days after their last period, when in actual fact, unless you have been monitoring your cycle, you won't ever know. Then sperm can live upto 7/8days after intercourse. So you can have sex on a presumed 'safe' day, but the little !!!!!!s are still wriggling about in there waiting....probably with a flask of tea, a bacon sandwich and a paper...0 -
If you are already pregnant the MAP can't change that, but it won't hurt the baby either. It stops the fertilised egg from implanting in the uterus.
It does not harm or effect an established pregnancy, which is what you have if the egg has implanted and is growing.
It is emergency contraception, not an abortion pill.
MAP is a form of an early abortion, as it works after the fertilisation.
It contains a large amount of hormones and have really strong impact on your body. I personally wouldn't trust it not to harm my baby. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

I don't think the OP wants an arguement on whether the MAP is a form of abortion or not.
My DS is a MAP baby and is a perfectly healthy teenager:D
If a baby is supposed to be then so be it;) Life always throws little surprises at us!!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
