It stops the fertilised egg from implanting in the uterus.
It does not harm or effect an established pregnancy, which is what you have if the egg has implanted and is growing.
It is emergency contraception, not an abortion pill. I am around 14 weeks pregnant and I took the morning after pill and was told by the doctor it would not affect the baby at all.
Ask a doctor, pharmacist or midwife

You also need to find out exactly where that coil is. Has your GP booked you in for a scan? It's possible that it could cause an ectopic pregnancy if it's moved up rather than out, and as you don't recall seeing it you need to know if it's still there.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Buuuuuuut it does work (with reduced effect admittedly) for 72 hours after unprotected sex, so theoretically if conception occured over the weekend, it could still be effective.0 -

I think that's because the eggs can be fertilized in the tube and take a while to get down.
The last time I took it, the chemist was very keen to tell me that if you aren't quick enough and the egg has implanted it makes no difference, that's why the effectiveness reduces as some will be already pregnant by then. Sometimes I wish it didn't work so well but hey ho, I love all the little monsters. Unplanned doesn't necessarily mean unwanted :rotfl:

Ooooh, i handnt thought of that! Thank you
Is it really wrong that part of me is wishing that i am? But the practical part knows that the original plan of waiting for a while is the best idea0 -
