also a way to pm all board guides at once would be good, then whoever sees it first could deal with it rather than the pm only going to one

Hi thanks for the idea but please don't do this as it would waste even more of our time. When one BG has merged it the other two would then go through the message as if they had to only to find it's already done hence wasting their time:)

    Hi,

I used to get an email alert (a pop up with sound) when I rec'd an new email in my Hotmail account (I had to be signed into messenger). A couple of days my Hotmail changed and the email alert has stopped???. I've spent ages looking on the help pages to work out how to set it up again but I just can't see how to do it.

I'm not very good with computers, so if anyone could help that would be great. Thanks.

Edit: Its not because I need to check my email every min of the day :rotfl:

  • Hello, hope this appears in correct place. Could someone please please help with the question of multiple entries please. As a general rule is it just one entry per person or is it necessary to read through all terms and conditions? What is the default if nothing is specified?
Also with reference to including phone no. Wondering which one to give. Mobile phone calls would be an issue while at work. If am successful in winning a prize and do not answer a phone call advising of win, is the win forfeited? Thanks in anticipation.

This is the correct place to ask questions :) welcome to the boards!

Unless it says otherwise I would assume only one entry per household as I wouldn't want to risk disqualifying myself. There are some website which have unlimited entried (e.g. gmtv) but the person that posts the comp will usually point this out when they post the competition. Some might be daily entry and then the comp title will usually have daily in the title to make it obvious.

Regarding the phone number I always give out my mobile number. Some companies will keep trying to contact you until they get through to you (like the big itv prizes) but others such as absolute radio or ones for concert tickets, you will often forfeit if you don't answer on the first attempt. Luckily a lot of sites will just email you to tell you you've won or just send out the prize - think i've only had 4 or 5 phone calls in over 2 years. Probably best to give a number where they can leave a message. Good luck :)

There's still a lot of comps that ended on 31st on main board. If anyone has a few minutes maybe we could press expired on them to get them moved to GO as seems like board guides are busy right now?

  • Hi all fellow compers. I have a question I hope someone can help me with. My daughter is entering a local writing competition for young writers and it has to be handwritten. She has more or less finished but I'm not sure what paper she should use (un/lined) what size paper and what type of ink and colour in ink. She's put a lot of effort into her writing and she wants to present it well.

    I hope someone can help.
    Thanks x

I think it would take too long for everyone to go through all the comps and click expired on them, theres about 1000 comps for the 31st alone and they all need to be opened individually, so it might just be best to wait?

I would assume the BG's have got a system like the subscription one for us to move them over in bulk a page at a time?

I've never done anything like this before, but I think it would look neater on lined paper (I tend to find no matter how much I try and keep writing straight on plain paper it always veers off!!) you could always get the small lined paper if you don't want lots of white space on the page, I think I would use A4 aswell, unless it specifies a size.

I would probably use black ink, maybe a bic type pen? I think you can get some you can rub out too (they come with their own rubber on the end) so if she happened to make a mistake it's easy to correct!

Hope that helps, and I wish her lots of luck with her entry!! :D :j

I dunno? I wasn't on about all of them just if people notice one as sometimes people forget that we can use the expired button... Some of them seem to have been moved to GO - there's about 12 pages left
