Competitions Discussion Thread Part 11

Just wondering if any of the competition sites such as myoffers or loquax any good and if anyone has actually won anything off these sites? Or if they are just companies collecting your information?
Just want to know if I'm wasting my time entering? Thanks!0 -
well you wont win if you dont enter but my own view is that the chances of winning these days are so much slimmer than in the good old days of comping when tiebreaks etc ruled! Internet type entries sort of bore me rigid if I'm honest but every now and again I'll have a spurt on entries. If you dont mind the boredom of internet entries then i'd carry on - if run properly, someone should win. Persistence is key to winning!0

My opinion is keep away, more chance of winning the lottery!0

its all down to LUCK i enter about 50-100 comps a day and have won some great prises like docking stations, dvds, books etc. i just enter internet comps it does get a bit boring but i listen to some music and get on with it, but remember some people win more then others thats just how it goes, but if you dont enter you never win.2010 wins: docking station, Plantronics .audio 995 digital wireless stereo headset, 2x darkthrone albums, geisha assassin dvd. stokes gigs t-shirt, 21 bottles of jamesons whicky, knomo 4 laptop/handbags. 2x dvd, cook book.0

you might want to read Velvet Glove's excellent comping guide particulary #7 section 11Are there any sites, from experience, which are likely to generate lots of spam? There are a few which have come to our collective attention as sites that, when used for comps, seem to generate lots of unwanted postal, email & phone call attention. These are listed below for your information, however, please do remember that this is only the collective opinion of other MSE Compers & does not necessarily reflect upon the sites themselves.
Loquax and The Prize Finder are true competition sites and do not collate or data mine your information although they may list sites which when entered generate a lot of :spam:
if you want my opine you would be better of just doing the comps that are posted on MSE as posters usually alert each other if a site generates :spam: also MSE will nearly always provide the answers to the comps unlike most other competition sites:D

I agree Carol, it is more much more difficult now than 10 years ago. Positive thinking works I find and enter everything you would like.
In the past I use to enter everything but am now a little more selective. I dont have experience of winning from my offers or loquax, they do look a bit spammy.
Whether we win or lose, that we played at all was a winning decision.2011 wins £12,2922012 wins ...Thank you to all who post on here!!!! :A0 -
Stick with MSE, enter as many as you can and turn up the sounds;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

My opinion is this:
Loquax - Great resource. No problems with spam (same with Prizefinder)
MyOffers - Spam central2018 wins: Hong Kong holiday0 -

Went to the website and found this on there.
"This competition is for genuine entries only blog readers, blog and beauty lovers. NOT people who have never read my blog and just want a free manicure - if you are so moneysaving do your own fu*king manicure cos It's free you morons. "
