Has anyone on here ever raised the idea of starting a Competition Co-Op, where cash prizes are shared out between the members?0

Sounds lame and uunworkable, how do you divide prizes between hundreds of members? We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

The number of people who post on IWIWIW saying they've won tickets to something but cannot go is REALLY annoying. I don't see the point in entering competitions to win something you have no use for. Yes its ok offering them to others on here, but what about those who missed out who don't post on here, or those that do but aren't quick enough to respond.
I think its selfish and would encourage people not to just enter competitions for tickets for the sake of it when they never have any intentions of going.
I agree, but before you actually make the draw and allocate the prize how do you know who is legitimate and who isn't?
From my own correspondence today with the site involved it seems they base this on someone who has entered competitions on their site many times...well I've entered plenty of comps on their site and would have attended any of the events or welcomed many of the prizes.
Also I personally see no problem with people entering just for the sake of entering.
It's part and parcel of running a competition and those people have just as much right to enter and win as anyone else.
Filtering entries in this nature is basically influencing the result of the draw and I would say that is much more questionable ethically than someone entering a competition just for the sake of it.
But I digress, my original question is are they allowed to filter entries in this manner?2010: £86040 -
Don't think this would work somehow, but i could be wrong.0

You can be in charge & I'll put the cheque in the post.0 -
This is a co-op, we all share the answers and the links. It's a great co-op already, sharing the prizes would be unworkable. Apart from the problems already mentioned How would we stop people hundreds from joining then not entering any comps and still getting a share of the prizes? Also it would turn a big win which is a great and special event for one person into a meaningless £5 or £10 at best for lots of people.Wins 2011 so far: £50 Toy Voucher, Paul Blu Ray
Wins 2010: 10 (total value £3800ish)
Wins 2009: 10 (total value £3200)
TWBM in 2011: ITV win, IPAD, PS3, 42"+ TV0 -

I think that's a bit unfair, a situation can change in a second, anything could happen that can change whether people are able to go or not so I wouldn't tar everyone with the same brush!
Obviously entering with no intention of going isn't very good, but we have no idea of knowing whether people intended to go or not, so I don't think it's fair just to assume they didn't!0 -

Sorry, went off on one in my last post, meant to quote this too!:rotfl:
I'm not sure about whether they're allowed to filter in that way, it does seem a very strange practice, I wonder if it might be worth querying it with the ISP (now IPM)?0 -

Yeah I did think of asking them IPM, but wondered if anyone here knew first.
Doubt I will raise it with the IPM though and will just stop entering their comps and visiting their site.
At the end of the day they are the ones who benefit from the clicks. It's not like they get nothing out of it and it's one of the main reasons site like them run competitions. If they wasn't getting the clicks then they wouldn't be getting the prizes to give away in the first place.
My main gripe was what they did today meant that everyone who had entered the Tiesto comp via the webiste had basically wasted their time and their entry became invalid. The only chance they had of actually winning any of the tickets was if they happened to be logged into their email account on a certain day at a certain time.2010: £86040
