I’m not in the habit of disabling my vehicle for the fun of it, I’m self employed! the garage gave me a printed analysis of the fuel test, I have samp les of the fuel I drove past today and guess whats happening, full on tank cleaning by EuroTank / check out what they do!!!

Isn't full tank cleaning part of the normal process at petrol stations every X months (or if they are changing the use of one of the underground tanks).
IIRC I've se seen a couple of my local stations undergo something similar, including a Shell one.
I would imagine that any fuel contamination at the station would affect hundreds of drivers within a day or so given how busy they tend to be, every time I'm waiting to exit my local Morrisons (the entrance/exit is next to the petrol station), there is a steady stream of vehicles coming out of there.
Have you contacted Trading Standards?
IIRC they are in charge of checking petrol stations for things like the amount (weights and measures), and possibly quality of the fuel supplied.0 -

Err, what they do (amongst other things) is routine contract servicing of all the Tesco forecourts in the country, which includes inspection and cleaning :

TESCO VERDICT
Thank you for sending me the additional information.
We have carried out a full investigation to determine any faults with our fuel, but unfortunately I cannot find any issues.
If fuel quality was the cause of the problems to your vehicle, then we would expect to see large numbers of complaints. This has not been the case, therefore we conclude that the fuel was fit for purpose and met the BS EN 590 specification. I have also spoken with our store, and they have informed me that there have been no issues found, during their checks.
With reference to our findings, it is with regret that I can not change the decision taken on this occasion.
Please accept my apologies for the disappointing reply and I would like to thank you for your time.
Kind regards0 -
in reply they now say

I wouldn't expect them to admit it, even if it was contaminated.0

Absolutely, but I would have faith they would put things right.
There must have been a hell of a lot of petrol in the diesel to cause your car to even care about it? Its funny how gullible people are taken in by thinking that supermarket fuel is in any way inferior to the other brands.
Still, the commercial world relies on this sort of nonsense behaviour.0 -

Whatever you do, don't let silly things like science get in the way of all that marketing by the big oil companies about how much better their fermented dinosaurs are to anyone elses0 -

eurotank are the laughing stock of the petroleum industry, i know because our company audits the petroleum industry, in the past 8 years they have;
burnt down a morrisons petrol station in livingston (on youtube)
caused major environmental disasters by spilling 4000 litres of petroleum into the ground
caused break downs to customers cars from cross contamination of fuel on both morrisons and tesco sites
reeked havok in hildonborough with a relining project the took on
sealed off the vents to a live tank and left the petrol station causing major problems when tanker drivers filled up
left diesel tanks open to the elements
filled diesel tanks up with water and allowed customers to fill up
had pressurised pumps lytrally explode and spray diesel over family, oap and general customers on the petrol station
had a child no older than 5 covered in diesel and try to offer him £20 to not tell his parents
ended up in court for failure to maintain their vehicles
sold bug test kits that ave no effect what so ever and ripped innocent customers off
the employees steal more fuel than they cleans
shell booted these guys of site for leaving a fuel tank open once they had left site resulting in 7,000 liters of water ingress into the tank
the managing director edward wheeler is a l out little turd of a man, i have never come into contact with such a liar of a wheesel he will sliver his way out of accepting blame for anything his company has caused.
any issues tesco fuel has is a direct result of letting eurotanks uneducated and under paid staff on site, they are a joke if you see these guys working on a petrol station near you do not fill up once they have been. only supermarkets would use these jokers
you will do well to avoid this rag tag mix of immigrants and under educated laborers claiming to be engineers0
