Still waiting on that update - or did the O/P not get the responses from the repairers they were expecting to back up these ridiculous claims?0 -
If the fuel was contaminated you would of noticed the fault after a few miles not when you took it to the garage0
-
And it wont be tesco's fault. The fuel probably comes from the same refrineary as BP. It will be haulage companies fault if they have put the wrong fuel in the pumps. Tesco dont own their own fuel delivery vehicles, so it will be Wincanton or Stobart. Also tesco staff do not put the fuel in the pumps.
I wish you look but I cannot see tesco being at fault because if they were , you would be one of a few hundred that have had the problem and it would be well publicised locally0 -
Surely the transaction is between the seller tesco and the purchaser? not a supplier stobart wincanton et all?0

A local Tesco PFS had this problem...the tanker driver put the diesel into the wrong tank! Luckily only a few people were effected by it, but it still made the local paper! What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -
I know this thread is old, but myself and a lot of people in this area have had problems (Horsham, West Sussex)..
My fuel consumption was down 10%, with very poor running. I am taking the car to the garage to be checked as I am now getting stalling when I start it in the morning. I have heard of people having to have their tanks drained and new filters put in.
I drive a brand new Focus 16.6 diesel Eco.
Never again will I use Tesco fuel. That is a potential loss of £2,500 per year for them.0 -

Its just not possible to get a 10% reduction in economy when comparing different companies diesel. Supermarkets would be out of business if their fuel was in any way inferior.
Complete tosh pedalled by those who do not know better.0 -

My my, you must drive about 500,000 miles a year
1,300miles a day
at 70mph thats 18.5 hours
You must be buzzing how/when do you sleep?
Alternatively we could adjust that loss figure to £92
Let me guess, the website that used to be in the OP's sig is now in her avatar?0 -
My car just gets fed on whatever is cheapest or most convenient. Tesco, Shell, BP, whatever, it's all the same to me.
I've never noticed any difference in fuel consumption or performance.0 -

The petrol station that I work at takes £700,000 a week...I very much doubt Tesco will miss £2,500 a year.
