If seemingly everyone is doing these offers, quidco gets you a 50 pounds bonus, and people end up getting equipment for rock bottom prices, are sky actually making much money at all?

I just got Sky+ for free.

We are on normal digital. i called up to cancel saying that the programmes i prefer are on when i am at work. They came back with"would sky+ be a better package for you"

Me " yes but i cant afford it"
Sky" we will give you it for £49"
Me " let me talk to my huband about it. i will ring in later today."

I waited for around an hour called back to say NO we couldnt justify the £49 at the moment so they gave it to us for free.

    Excellent!!!!

    Hi

I've got Sky + with all the channels plus a few of the Asian ones and I think my brother signed up for Sky Broadband so shall I just say "I want to cancel everything" or "just the TV" because I don't want Broadband at its normal cost!?"

I'm currently on the family package, think its about £21 a month, however i want to get sports and ditch documentaries and cartoons. does threatening to leave work with this kind of situation, or just for those already on a set plan willing to stay on the same one?

Going slightly off topic, my parents rejoined Sky in October 2005 and their box was over 5 years old then. The box constantly freezes and you have to take the plug out to get it to work again. I rang Sky today and they wanted £159 to replace the box set. Is this right does anyone know. I was previously with ntl and they replaced the box set for free when it went wrong.

You could always buy a second hand box from ebay, or your local car boot sale. I just sold one at my local car boot sale for £3 - always loads available.

    £159 - my ****

You may be better upgrading/ changing your package and then phoning back after your next bill saying that you cant afford the additional payments. Might give you a better case
