SKY 1/2 Price !!!!

Hi Guys,

I cancelled my SKy TV at the end of the footy season and want to get reconnected.
I can sign up as an old subscriber again but I also have to option of becoming a new subscriber (my old subscription was in my Dads name).

I'd like to upgrade to Sky+ but the B*stards at Sky have added a £60 instalation fee and increased the cost of the box to £99. What's the best deal I can get?

Thanks to all in the forum. I contacted sky today using the tricks above and got a 25% discount for the next 12 months. It does mean that I am tied in with them for a year but thats no big deal. Pre phone call monthly fee £42.50 post phone call monthly fee £32.66. Annual saving £118.08. Not bad for 20mins of a phonecall. (Don't forget to use the freephone method mentioned earlier in this thread).

The freephone No loophole has been closed. Use the same number but enter a fictional number i.e. 123 and press star. do this 3 times then you will get straight through.

I phoned up Sky saying that I wanted to cancel. And I actually did want to cancel. As I explained to the girl on the phone, I barely watch the movies so I am going to go freeview and get a PVR. Without hesitation they offered me 6 months at 17.50GBP. Exactly half of what I was paying before. And I get to keep Sky+.

In 6 months time I will do the same and if I get cancelled I will simply by a Humax dual tuner PVR. Lovely!

Just tried to phone sky on the freephone number, but it is definatly not working, tried holding, and tried typing 123 and then star, but everytime it just directs me to the 0870 number!!!!! Never mind, going to ring it now, to see what they offer me!!!!!

so whats the best bet for a new customer to get a good deal - currently paying £20 pm for ZEN Adsl + Freeview. After SKY with their Broadband (btw has anyone got this setup? is the broadband service actually good?)

Was on the phone for about 6 minutes, was immediatley offered another 3 months at half price, or 6 months at 25%, but decided for the 3 months at half price!!!!

Just tried the number to test it and I got through, I was pressing hash instead of star and typed in a longer number ?, maybe it is the difference ?

I've just got my package - Sky Sports was £36, going up to £37 in September to be 1/2 price for 5 months with no tie in's - and the phone number tip above worked. Thanks everyone !

I emailed sky saying it was getting expensive etc .im still in my 12 month contract for sky+.They emailed back saying they would give me it half price for 3 months or my main account.We have sky+ and 2 extra boxes so i assume they mean half price of the 42.50 we pay for sky+
