SKY 1/2 Price !!!!

I rang sky earlier and explained that i need to review my monthly budget.I said i was looking to cancel and was offered full package 1/2 price until february 07.I know there are always deals around but this is the best yet as it took no effort.

I know that they are suffering at the hands of freeview and will retain customers at almost any cost.

Give them a ring and save save save !!!

I hope you are using the freephone number (and special instructions to get through quicker!) as shown on https://www.saynoto0870.com ?

Premier + Customer enquiries - DON'T press STAR button which they ask you to do it TWICE; DON'T RESPOND & HOLD

I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
  • I just tried .... I am on the Full Package @ £42.50 ... the best they could do for me was £34.00 per month.
They will also try to get you to sign-up to Sky Broadband (which is an excellent offer...£10pm for upto16MB)

The broadband is an excellent price subject to how they enforce their fair usage policy.........

Hi, noticed these links for a few months people dropping the full package and being offered it half price - kept putting it off eventually plucked up the courage to ring sky (I rang to cancel the full package down to the family package approx £20pm)- explained looking to save money and premiership isn't on at the moment he said Ok - I was cut off within the hour ! - I'm very lucky me - what did I do wrong, I wasnt offered anything, I was pleasant on the phone - how long should I wait before asking for it back ?

    Thanks trevor_john & clasics

I've just got my sky+, Sky World subscription reduced to £31 for TWELVE MONTHS :j They removed the cartoons and music, which we never watch - so a saving of £150. Brilliant.

+ I got through in 10 seconds using the method posted by clasics.

    Good days work :rotfl:

JNY that is amazing as no one "usually"gets cut off that quick,i have never come across it.As you have paid up until the end of your monthly bill it is most odd. When folk do get switched off there is usually a call offering you the world to get you back.I repeat i have never heard of anyone being cut off within minutes.

You asked to reduce your package and pay for what you watch... why would they offer you anything?
You have to say you want to cancel your subscription with them as you can not afford it and can get NTL for less. Thats when they offer you something to stop you leaving.

I've just got the letter telling me that my package is going up from £32 to £37 from September  The only reason I have any premium channels is so that I can have Sky+ included.

I phoned and told them I wanted to cancel. I didn't bother trying for the half-price package offers as I want to keep my Sky+ - thought it might be a bit complicated! They offered me:
    - My package at 25% discount for a year (but contracted for a year)
    - My package at 20% discount for a year, but with no tie-in.

They also noticed that I had a Sport channel that I didn't watch so they've cancelled it and given me all of the films instead (I previously only had half of them), which I think is a slightly more expensive package, but I've got it at my old package price. I've gone for the 20% off, which will even with the price rises will mean I'm paying slightly less

Not an enormous gain, but I'll still be paying less than I am now, even with the price rises (£29.60 instead of £32), and I've got more channels. I'm happy - I didn't have to haggle at all.
