SKY 1/2 Price !!!!

I've just phoned and said I'm doing a budgeting thing for our household (which is completely true) and can't justify £26 a month on Sky. The guy said he could take off the Disney Cinemagic which would then cut it to £21. I said that I feel I'm not getting value for money and am looking on the net for other digital deals, he asked which and I said NTL, he then told me that NTL get Sky programmes to air and any repeats I'm seeing on Sky I'd see on NTL!!!!
So I said that I 'really feel I need to cancel as I'm not getting value for money' and then he put me thru to cancellations but obviously had a chat with the lady beforehand.
I went thru it again with this nice scots lady who tried to sell me the broadband and talk packages!!! I said I'd look into them as they do sound good but going 'back to the Sky tv if I can't get offered some kind of deal I really feel I need to go elsewhere' etc - so she then offered me half price on what I currently have so £9 for 3 months, no Sky + deal, no multi-room deal - that's it LOL!
I will have a look into their talk deal as it sounds good and I'm currently paying Pipex Homecall (that's another story) £9.99 line rental + £6.25 anytime calls, plus £1. odd for caller display.
So I would be better off paying £10.50 line rental + £5 anytime calls with Sky, I'm not sure about broadband though - has anyone got Sky's broadband?
I currently have 2MB with Pipex for £14.99 uncapped and can use peer-2-peers. With Sky I'd pay £10 for 16MB uncapped (fair usage which I don't overuse anyway) so again I'd be better off with Sky - but first I'd like to see if anyone got Sky broadband to get any feedback on what the service is like.
Thanks in advance
Lisa

I would phone back and try to speak to a different operator.. i find that phoning during the day gets you further than phoning in the evening but it's always worth a try in the evening anyway!
As for their broadband, i'm holding out for this too as i want to see reviews on it before i go for it.. i'm currently on NTL for my phone and broadband, but only because i've got a good deal with them due to problems we've had with them (£17.50 a month for both bb and line rental, and they credited £120 onto account too for various costs they've caused us).

Teak wrote:How did you word it? I emailed today and complained about having to pay more for less with the september price rise and Sky losing some premiership games and US tour golf. Even mentioned I could cancel and go to NTL/freeview just as easily. Got a reply but rather than any offer to keep me, they gave a PR reply stating Sky is investing in new technology and programmes so prices have gone up for everyone.
I got the same sort of thing - really quick response but no offers - I complained that loyal customers were losing out to new ones and all I got was a load of waffle and a "we might have some offers for existing customers in the future" (can't recall EVER being offered a discount before so don't think that's likely!)
I'm obviously not saying the right thing.
I can't ring because the account is in the OHs name and he won't do it!0 -
Our sky is in my partners name, but they always talk to me when i've phoned up! Have you tried to call them on your OH's behalf?Lost lbs =

Hey guys if you cant get through from the freephone number then the geographical number is;
01506 831 780 , this will give you access to all sky departments. For downgrades select option 3 then 3 then 1.
There is also a cancellations department as well but cant remember options.
Hope this helps."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

I'm the same. Its in my husband's name and they refuse to discuss any details with me. I have tried to get my husband to ring up but he's shy as well. What is it with men! Don't they want to save money!0

just Phoned sky threatening to cancel telling them that I had been offered by NTL there full package ..Plus an extra box in my Daughters room for £50 A month with free install by nTL Engineer and of course no charge for the extra box..Could they beat it or at least match it I asked as my 12 months is up, well to cut a long story short as im alreay a movie and sports customer I have secured a free sky+ box with free install for both my old box in my daughters room and the new sky + in my living room...Half price for 6 months @£21.75 + £10 for the multiroom then 6 Months @ £43.50 + £10 For Multiroom...And yes I must confess the NTL price I said I was quoted was a small white lie ..Also to make things even better I didnt pay for the call...I hope this is of some use to someone....
here's a geo number for sky
01506 831 780

3,2 customer services

2,1 or 2 installations
