I am with wanadoo broadband at the moment and usually pay Orange about £28 a month so sounds a good deal for me. Anyone know what phone they are offering free for a signup? Would love the Motorola violet one. Also, anyone having wanadoo connection problems, my live box's lights have been flashing wildly lately and I keep getting the message 'can't find server'. Not sure if the live box is faulty or laptop? Anyone got any suggestions?0

As far as I am aware its not 20gb and is certainly better than the "unlimited" offerings of companies such as Toucan and Tiscali. Also there is no traffic shaping or blocking of ports which has to be good

To be honest i am a little biased maybe as i am an existing customer of both Wanadoo and Orange, so to me its simple i phone up, sign up for another 12 months (which i do anyway) and get my £17.99 wanadoo broadband thats already installed - for free! But i read somewhere that someone mentioned Orange's customer service being poor (), i moved to Orange from Vodafone and Voda's customer service is rubbish, since taking on Singlepoint last summer (they had even worse customer service). Anyway back on track - my personal opinion is that Orange has exceptional customer service, although agreed Wanadoo's has a lot to be desired! I still wouldnt let this put you off signing up for what i can see as a great offer! You only have to sign up for a year, and not 18 or 24 months like some people have quoted. I had the literature through today and have read it very carefully indeed!
I understand the comparision of this to the TalkTalk offer of free broadband, but in my eyes that's a new, possibly un-reliable, service where they take over your BT line (to rule the world from their secret liar). At least Wanadoo (formally freeserve) and Orange have been around for a while, adn proven they work. Although this website is about saving money, that shouldn't be at the cost of quality and reliability - otherwise Martin would have a section called "Tesco Value Product of the Week!" (That now has copyright btw Martin!)
Just thought i would add my 2p's worth!! thanks for letting me!
PS in today's literature Wanadoo/Orange have announced they are testing thier answer to BT's Fusion service, where your mobile phone is also home phone (for anyone who may want to know)0 -
Just can't see any way in which the Orange / Wannadoo broadband offer is in any way better than Talk talk offer.
Orange appear to think that they are doing us, the customers a favour !!
I signed up for talk talk broadband
:T it's thefirst time I've ever had broadband, so I was a complete beginner, with no technical knowlege----it's fantastic and easy to install on your own and CHEAP !!!
GET IN THERE !!!
What a goal !0 -
Ooh excitement! I have just signed up! And he said to me that it will be a 12 month contract for me not 18 months that I had read on the website as I have recently started my phone contract again by getting a new phone and package.
However I hope I have done the right thing. I initially phoned Orange customer services on 150 as I thought it would be easier from my mobile and not my landline on their freephone number. The first person I spoke to said "can you call back and speak to someone else as my computer is down". So I called back and they said "you need to phone 152" but that is the old customer services number and didn't work. So I phoned the normal freephone number and in the sign up process he asked "What county is London in?" and this sounded like a British guy and not someone in an Indian call centre! :-s
He said the router should arrive in 20 days so fingers crossed it gets sorted out before my next bill for my current broadband!0 -
As a current Wanadoo/Orange BB customer, I have been looking at a new mobile, Vodafone as my current supplier were messing me about with the Nokia N80, Orange had no problem with stock of the phone. So the result of a call to a lovely lady at Orange has resulted in a N80 for £49.99 plus for £30 per month with 650 mins and 1100 texts!! which I must admit I will never use. This is a cracking deal and only £5 more than my current tariff, plus BB(normally £17.99) for free. I think it's a great deal. Would not normally go for 18 month contract but this offer over the period makes it worthwhile. By the way Vodafone could have matched the cost of the handset but if I had stuck with them on £25 per month tariff, I would still be paying the £17.99 for BB on top.
Of course if you prefer a lower mobile tariff then maybe it's not the best option but, I'm well chuffed.
Never had a problem with Wanadoo customer service, when I have needed to call them everything has gone without a hitch.0 -

Typically 5-10 days, but due to the demand they are quoting upto 30 days on the free offer.
