Sorry, but that's nonsense. The big retailers all have their own produce supply chains and contractors. It's not like Tesco gets the M&S leftovers, and so on. They all source individually.0 -

Well to a degree they do, we buy a lot of our stuff for M&S and others for Tesco, some goes down the line to Tesco's, but what I was trying to say is that a lot of the time, the stuff you can get in Morrisons or Aldi was originally bought as M&S produce and has just fallen out of their stringent specs0 -
Cadbury make the chocolates for Marks and Spencers and Thorntons and they are the same chocolate selection as in their own cadbury select boxes. Found this out at christmas when all the boxes had the same chocolates
I'm really surprised about that as my son got a Thorntons Easter egg and the chocolate was disgusting.0 -
Thorntons don't actually make their own chocolate mix. They buy it in already made (as in liquid chocolate mix) and then they make the chocolate mix into their chocolates.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Well this isn't food so i hope i am allowed to post it but i used to work at an opticians, and ordered the contact lenses. We used to only sell the dearer bausch and lomb brand of daily disposables. I used to order them direct from Bausch and Lomb, however a few times i had to return orders as they had sent them in specsavers packaging! So basically the cheaper specsavers disposables were really the same as bausch and lomb and made by them!grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000

I once visited a company that manufactured eyeshadow, lipstick and foundation and then packaged this. Whilst I was there, they showed me how they filled the lipsticks. They manufactured a huge vat of the stuff, then packaged a free sample that was being stuck on the front of Prima magazine. When they had done enough, they added a few drops more of perfume and poured it into packaging for a cheaper end product. After that, they added a few drops more of perfume and poured it into packaging for a very high end brand. I was amazed. The high end brand was more perfumed than the very cheap give away, but they were essentially the same product. The guy showing me around said that they manufactured for almost all the beauty brands.0
