There were about half a dozen categories of tinned pea ("garden" (see below), processed, marrowfat, etc.) but about 100 different labels. The labels ranged from cheap-looking supermarket "own brand" ones to very expensive looking ones for up-market shops. The tins of peas kept rolling down the line uninterrupted, and the labels were just changed and attached as required.
Incidentally, I also seem to remember that the "garden" peas were all bleached white, put in the cans with an irridescent green dye, and then cooked in the sealed cans afterwards. This was to make all the peas look the same colour, since consumers apparently did not like the variations which would otherwise have occurred.

I worked at mcains for a while and needless to say I wont buy ANY instant or ready made mash ever again. All the black or green rotten bits from bad potatoes is mushed up then bleached and sold as ready made mash. It was absolutely foul stuff that was been usedLive for what tomorrow has to bring, not what yesterday has taken away0 -
Aldi's baked beans are made by in Italy by La Doria, in their Fisciano plant near Naples.
La Doria is a big name in Italy for tomato based canned food and canned vegetables.

And this is the source of Aldi's dog food (Earl range): Hermann Ospelt Anstalt, in the country of...you'll never guess...Liechtenstein. Yes. Liechtenstein, that tiny principality between Austria and Switzerland. And there is me thinking Liechtenstein's only export was post stamps and shady bank accounts. Anyway, see for yourselves:

Sainsbury's Whole Wheat Biscuit breakfast cereal carries exactly the same format of coding and best before dating as Weetabix, and I can find no difference between the two.
Muller produce much of the main supermarkets' own brands of dairy items such as trifles, dairy desserts and the like. My daughter's fiance works for the company which transports Muller products to the main warehouses and stores, and from time to time brings us the short date items which can't be sold to the customers because they would be out of date by the time they get to the shops. We have had Co-op own brand, Tesco own brand and several others too. Interestingly, they also produce a chocolate desert product labelled for...

You can spot "inofficial" Müller products by the veterinary control stamp, that's the small elliptical stamp you will find on any dairy product. The centre line gives you the code of the dairy manufacturer, EU wide.
The veterinary control code for Müller is
DE (for Deutschland, Germany)
BY 718 (for Müller)
EG (European Union)0 -
I bought some of those pineapple tarts from Aldi but they tasted funny the cream seemed different from other places that sell them.0

These sites are not easy to dig out.
The link below shows the dairy producers for Germany. The site is German, I'm afraid, but it's quite self-explanatory.
The list reads veterinary control number - location - company name, sorted by the German states.
http://www.milchqualitaet-bayern.de/index1.html
I'll keep digging for the UK and other EU member states.
EDIT
Please read #963 on how to navigate to the list.0 -
The lubricants sold by John Deere (tractors) are made by Shell0
