Great 'disguised Own Brand' Hunt.

I used to work for Hovis and their bread was made for M & S/Waitrose/Asda/Sainsbury's. The only difference was that they were put into the supermarkets own bags, which were on the packing machines.:j :j0

About 90% of all fruit juices inc sunny d (cartoned and bottled) would have been made by gerber foods in somerset. No specific vat for marks's or sainsbury's, the packaging and logo affects the taste as we are programmed to find the 'better' brands more tastier.
Personally i find morrissons budget orange juice the best the stuff in the red cartons.
When I worked at Waitrose we'd sometimes get cases of juice branded for other supermarkets, Somerfield and Sainsbury's being the most common miss-picks for some reason.0 -
Probably not consitent... I buy Tesco value bananas and the last three shops they have been made up of the Fare Trade Organic complete with sticker left on. I'm convinced that the value bananas generally are just 'rebadged' from other sections but have no proof of that.

Check out this recall notice from United Biscuits. The list of affected stores ranges from Aldi to Waitrose...

the recall list is very interesting, but I wonder if there is a difference in the recipes. It would be good if someone did a taste test on some of these brands (I'm not a fan of bourbons myself).0

Tesco gets all their milk from Robert Wiseman dairies, I see the lorries coming in & out whenever I'm waiting for my son to finish his shift in Tesco. Tesco bourbon biscuits taste identical to the originals & so do the Tesco Jaffa Cakes. Tesco own brand crisps are usually just as good as the more expensive Walkers branded ones. Tesco branded beans & spaghetti are mostly as good as cross & blackwell branded, I've found maybe 1 tin in 8 that's not quite as good. Tesco branded ready meals (when they decide to sell them) are the same as Birds Eye, sometimes better. I've found Tesco dry spaghetti to be better quality than the more expensive brands, the Tesco rice is just as good as Tilda branded.Winnings

The packaging of the Max Factor panstick makeup is identical to the ...Collection 2000 one! Of course there is a HUGE price difference. There are other things as well, the collection 2000 liquid eyeliner is in the same bottle as an expensive brand. Cant remember which now sorry. Just started as a makeup merchandiser so when I shut my eyes right now I see makeup :eek:Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
