I have a friend that worked for Rivington foods, They make Montana and Ainsley Harriott chocolate wafer bars. He brought a massive mixed bag home one day that was filled with all the bars they make, I can't recall all of them but I remember that there were some ASDA own brands and I think M&S or Sainsburys plus oddly I think there may have been some "McVities" Taxi bars...
I like the thread but wouldn't it be nice if we could have an actual list of these products?0 -
I work in a dried food factory in Leeds. Some of the things we make for supermarkets are definitely just the same product in a different box, one example being Asda good for you cup soups. You'll get the exact same thing in Aldi under the 'lite choice' name, no doubt cheaper tooSealed Pot Challenge 15 #78

Asda seems to be having a sale of its own brand engine oils.
Any one know who makes them?0 -

JML magic bullet £64 .. or Hinari at £23 ??
You may have seen the adverts on the tv shopping channels for the JML magic bullet blender ... which in fairness i think is a superb product .. but at their £64 delivered is too much really ..
http://www.jmldirect.com/The-Original-Magic-Bullet-PM4000/
To my surprise i then found the Hinari Genie .... how identical can 2 products look ?? !! ... best deal i found is on Amazon at £22.49 delivered .
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hinari-MB280...2659934&sr=8-1
Out of interest i emailed Jml saying i thought they looked identical .. and could they explain why there's was 3 times the price ?
First reply was simply ...
"
Thank you for your recent correspondence. We can confirm this is not the same product. "
I wrote back , saying i was very unhappy with that simple response . They replied ...
"Although the product looks similar, we cannot list specific differences as we are not familiar with the other product.
We are sorry to be of no further assistance in this matter "
i wrote back again saying i simply could not believe " we are not familiar with the other product" .
Their response ...
"The product you are referring to is not a JML product therefore we would be unable to assist you in determining differences between that product and the JML product. It looks similar and that is the only comparison we would be able to make. "
I gave up ... and ordered the Hinari from Amazon . Received 48 hours later .. delighted with it !!0 -

I saw a post (about 20 pages earlier) saying that Estee Lauder make a Superdrug line of skincare products (i think the name was Good Skin). However, when i followed the link, it said something like "product not found". they do have a good looking line called Optimum. Does anyone know anything on this matter? Have they discontinued the Good Skin line and if so is the Optimum a replacement also made by Estee Lauder (and if not, who makes it) and is it good?
Btw, I saw in earlier posts someone saying they went on holiday to
Bulgaria and bought a good immitation of an expensive brand perfume (Light Blue i think) from a Lidl. I come from Bulgaria and there are no Lidl shops there yet. They are planning to open some in the near future. Also, even if it may sound exotic and uncivilized, the laws in Bulgaria also prohibit you from making and selling exact replicas of trade mark products, so the argument that you can't find it in England but can in Bulgaria for this reason are not true.0 -
