I have been told by a friend of mine who works at morrison's that all their morrisons branded motor oils are made by Duckhams!

Hope this saves you money!

  • Discovered today that WH Smith's Collecting System trading card refills (generic WHS collectors system packaging w/ Magic the gathering card art) - 5x9 pocket leaves single sided, cat no. CCR12 - are actually Max Protection branded sleeves inside the bag (complete with hologram).

Costs £4.99 but I think it's actually cheaper to buy the larger Max Pro. multipacks that are available on amazon/ebay though:mad:

  • I used to work for an independent packing company. At Christmas, we were packing miniature bottles of alcohol with something else as a gift pack (e.g tequila and jelly worms) for Tesco. After lunch, we were given different packaging labels, but still packing exactly the same thing. The afternoon ones were going to Waitrose and because of that, the prices were more!!

Why do Poundland have to stop selling a branded product once it gets mentioned on here.

I have just tried the Snackrite Tortilla Chips from Aldi, but am sad to see on the back that they may contain traces of wheat, as my kids have coeliac disease. All other tortilla chips we have tried are gluten free, and I can't help wondering if these tortilla chips are actually made in the same place as any of the others, both branded and non branded. If so, surely the would actually be gluten free? Anyway, in case you haven't tried them, do because they taste every bit as good as Doritos and are a fraction of the price.

Sadly, some retailers seem to add these disclaimers to everything. My youngest has a nut allergy and we have noticed many things we have bought from Sainsburys seems to have the disclaimer "Not suitable for nut allergy sufferers due to the methods used in the manufacture of this product". I haven't a clue what that means, so we tend to stick with Tescos who give you more information.

It means that the production line the item was made on is likely to have had something made with nuts on it and they haven't cleaned the line between products. Or it's been made in a factory where nut items are also produced on other lines. Both mean there is a risk of cross contamination so they say it's not suitable or that a thing "may include" just to watch their backs incase you sue them for a rogue nut being in there.
