Hello, I am after a new washing machine as my 9 yr old one is on it's last legs, I have heard(thought it was this thread but it's not) about washing machines being the same, just with slightly different fronts and obviously labels-can anybody advise?

This is where Moneysavers are usually told to check... http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/

I know all the 'German' brands are supposed to be best, but I really can't justify such a high cost, on something that you might as well replace, after a few years, a couple of times, in what MIGHT be the lifespan of a premium priced machine.

Not wishing to be un-enviromently friendly, by creating more waste, but of the opinion that a NEW machine, would actually be more efficient than anold 'good' one.

So we've got Indesit, with their 5 year parts warranty. Which will probably mean a 50p component replaced for free, but an extortionate call out cost!!

So it'd mean a new machine, anyway!!

Thornton's make the chocolates for M&S.

Burton's make a lot of the own brand biscuits - know this as I live right across the road from the factory and they sell them in the factory shop with the store names crossed out in black marker pen. Know they make a lot for Tesco, can't remember the others I have seen.
    Consumer Pulse - £140 Debenhams & £20 HMV vouchers - so far.
Lightspeed panels - £130 Paypal so far!
Ipsos Panels - £20 Boots vouchers - so far!
Valued Opinions - £10 Amazon voucher - so far!

    On cereals:

    H. & J. Brüggen KG in Lübeck, Germany are the maker of Sainsbury's own brand cereals.

    Reference: http://www.brueggen.com/index.php?seid=181
Just the first sentence, self-explanatory, no need to understand German.

They also make cereal bars and Be Light cereals for Aldi Süd (Germany).

I think that possibly the confusion over the chocolate is down to the supplier. The supplier of liquid chocolate to Cadburys, Thorntons & many, many others is the same Belgian company - but each UK company takes a different recipe of chocolate - a different blend or whatever. Some companies (which includes Cadburys) then add their own 'secret' ingredients, but many companies just use the chocolate as supplied

I have a family member who works for the Belgian chocolate company - which no-one will have heard of the company name - yet they supply chocolate to the majority of companies in the UK that are chocolate 'manufacturers'. I had always assumed that these companies made their own choclate, but they don't, they ship it in in liquid form and use that the create their chocolates, chocolate bars etc.

Would that be Barry-Callebaut? It's been discussed a couple of times here over the last year or so (including by me on New Years Day last year, sadly enough :o).

If it is them they're Swiss, not Belgian, although they do have a big operation in Belgium.

A lot of marks and spencers chocs and sweet stuff is made at the chocolate factory in Fakenham, norfolk, I have also bought stuff they make for morrisons and asda, I think all the bang on the door stuff and a hell of a lot of advent calenders and easter eggs come ffrom there as well. There was stuff on sale at marks for £9.99 at halloween time that I was buying at fakenham for 2.50 - bargain!

The factory at Fakenham is Kinnerton's - don't know if that's part of Gilchris Confectionery or if that's another company that also make goodies for M&S etc

Gilchris is a subsidiary of Kinnerton, which is now part of Zetar plc.

Zetar seem to have been on quite a sweet tooth shopping spree, with a few savouries chucked in, as well.

Just skimming through the annual report.
Oh, look. Quite a few Morrisons "The Best" and Tesco Finest items in there. Aldi products as well.
