and loads more they get stuff all the time.........

I agree that there are some good bargains to be had at Heron Foods, but the consumer should always keep an eye on the Best Before dates. I've bought things from Heron in the past and got them home and they have to be eaten within 5 days or so.

i used to work at grampian county pork and they made sliced ham, bacon, joints, gammons etc for most supermarkets, the smartprice/basic brands just had thinner cuts, bit more fat on, simpler packaging and more preservatives and brine pumped into them.

  • Been bored, so here is where Aldi's own brand rollmops and pickled herring fillets in a jar come from:

A small factory making pickled fish and veg called Piątek in Western Poland, based in the tiny village of Siedlec, formerly Schiedlitz, not too far from Poznań.

I think the taste and texture of primark lipgloss is very very close to Lancome Juicy Tubes which are £13.50 each. £1 in Primark!
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

I have worked for a number of manufacturers agents or importers in the UK who supply the major UK retailers. Over the years I have found that people "pay" for the privilege to shop in certain stores.
I supplied bedding to discounters (duvet covers etc), they were made to the same spec and from the same factory as products from Next & JLP.
Most major retailers now have their own brand, to supply these the manufacturers have to jump through hoops to get the orders, we have to work to very strict QC requirements, in a lot of cases the factories are audited to make sure the workers aren't put upon.
To be honest the best products are usually found in the major supermarkets as they have more to lose if they are found to be inferior. IMHO its better to steer clear of the bargain basement shops as they don't check the products when they come in.....
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T
    57% of debts cleared:beer:
  • I don't know if this has been posted before but M&S crisps have always been produced on the same production line as Walkers, and other cheaper brands.
