  • Ladies and gentleman, today, I have not not gambled. I also worked my nuts off, getting up at 4:45 to be at work for 6:30am. I had a so so day at work, managed to get about £100 of orders for the wifes avon. I spend 65p on a sweet from M&S so £4.35 left of the fiver.
Email received from the comp people for the holiday. Definately on for 5th July. Am still stunned and won't blieve it until the tickets arive!
Is late, and have another early start tomorrow. Night people, keep the faith, and stay lucky.
Oh and I would love to be able to vote for the smartie party but would have to have a labotomy first...and thats the last on the politics subject. Need all the friends I can get.
  • Too damn early to be up again so soon after going to bed! Off to work. The cycle ride should wake me up, along with the coffee! Looking forward to a day at the seaside tomorrow. Will post again later today. Today I will not gamble. Not seeen my kids for 24 hours, were asleep when I left and asleep when I got home. Miss having a hug to give me boost. Anyway, better offski as train is at 05:44!

  • Hey ho people. Well, the day is over, and I have stayed gamble free. Work was a mare, with everyone around me (and even me at times) going postal! Staff, managers, customers all behaving like children, and me, joining in! Nothing like a pointless row to make the day go quicker!
The sandwiches are made, the rucksack is packed, the tickets brought and prozac is on standby! Margate watch out, we will be on our way by 8am tomorrow. The god thing is that because I work for Tfl, I have a concession card for rail travel, so the tickets have only cost me £13.
Sent the comp people an email confirming the flight times, booked the days off from work and we will, in july, be on our way!!!!!!
Off to the comping board and gonna hit the board big again before bed.
Take care everyone. Hope we are all fighting the fight
  • Morning William,

  • Morning people. A good day had by all, if a bit windy. Great beaches at margate, but !!!!!! all to do except build sandcastles, and eat! Dreamland (famous for the Mary Rose ride, and the Only fools and Horses episode) has long gone, so only amusement arcades and pubs on the front. The kids enjoyed the day once I had bought windbreak. The train journey went without a hitch until the return leg! Some stroppy suit bemoaned the fact that we had a seat and he didn't despite him having reservation. Ignored him, until he let out stream of expletives...Swore I could have quite willingly ripped him a new !!!!!!. Luckily he decided that the looks he got from me and the others around him, he would move away.
Is a beautiful day, going to do my seeds ready for the little plastic greenhouse we have for the kids.
Wife in a funny mood, think she maybe pre or post!
No gambling today, except with my life! If wfes mood doesnt improve I will have to do something, which normally means a stand up row.
More later. Keep the faith people.

Afternoon, glad to hear you had a great time at the seaside. At least if there's only sandcastles to make, there's not much money to be spent :)

Try not to let a row progress....think of that holiday! I know, easier said than done.

My friends came up to stay with me last week. Four of us middleaged ladies sat on the beach watching the sea coming in and out for the whole day. Spent a fortune on chips, candyfloss etc though.

    It was great!!!!

  • LOL, the way describe it, it sounds like a female version of Last of The Summer Wine!.
Have spent the day pottering about, doing bits and bobs. Wife just bathing the kids, so have a few minutes of PC time. Planted out in bedding pots some courgettes, cabbages, sweetcorn, brocolli, and carrots. Have put up the microwave brackets on the wall for ma'am! Just listening to the Spurs/Chelsea game. Got heaps of uniform shirts to iron for work next week but going to leave that for tomorrow. Another bet free day. TBH, not even thought about gambling. Had a delivery today, of things that I have already sold and made a little profit on. Spent £150, already sold for £250. £50 to holiday fund, £50 to credit cards. Have decided that all surplus and extra I make will be split 50/50 between debts and holiday/emergency fund. Once the holiday with the kids is over, and the emergency fund reaches an adequate amount, then I will reassess this. There is an overtime drought at work at the moment and that has hit me hard I can manage if I am extremely careful, and remain clean. If the overtime comes back, I will focus most of that onto the debt.
Will go on the debt free wannabe site and see what they say about clearing the overdrafts first or should I concentrate on the CC's.
    Keeping the faith.
