Just popped in to see if your ok, Hope the swimming went well.
Remember that just being here is a step in the right direction, hows ebay going. I have made quite a few overpayments from ebay sales even if they are small things are starting to add up now and the balance is coming down and thats always good, even seem to have got DH on board now thats the biggest shock !!

NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)
  • Morning (just) all. Here is the latest update. Still clean. Didn't go swimming monday, was too tired after the shift. Went swimming on tuesday. Tuesday morning was incredible. Rode from the station to the baths. The sun was shining, there was a light haze, and the grass seemed amazingly green. Got to the baths and the water was perfect, and the light was dancing on the water. Managed 20 lengths (though not all at once).
Slept like a log and woke up feeling good.
This morning, woke up like I had not swam 20 lengths in 20 years! Ached all over! Kids to school, then dug over the small plot ready for plantingout and sorted out the pots for planting too.
Ebay has been a non-starter. No sales yet but ever hopeful. Been a good few days.
Savingwannabe - I am humbled by your inner strength. I read your post to JC, and had a lump in my throat. Hope all is well with everyone.
More ebay listing later, going to water the seedlings and dig manure into the plot to liven up the soil. Day off today, so keeping busy. Still fretting over the Santander card, but can't change anything now. Hey ho. Must get on. More later.

William, so glad to hear you are well - was starting to get worried. One of you will have to tell me how to do this e-bay stuff. But again, as my OH says 'this capitalist lark is not working very well for me'. Who knows.

Burger sounds good Savingwannabe. I am going to be good - want to lose weight to run faster. Hope inspection over.

  • Good evening all. Been a quiet few days. Did some ebaying but not enough. Going to finish off that when I get home. Up early tomorrow after an extremely lazy day today. Didn't get to bed until 3 this morning (the shift change thing) and woke up at 1100! Bloody electric beard trimmer ran out of juice half way through trimming my goatee so I had to lose the lot. People at work say I have lost about 10 years. Feel naked without it. Still no news from santander.
Forgot to make a lunch for work, so had to spend out on sandwiches. Will remember tomorrow.
Swimming tomorrow before work. Also riding to and from work now the weather is a bit better. Guarenteed that it will rain now for the whole summer. Going to sort out the shed tomorrow. Want to see if there is anything saleable (ebay) and make some space.
Wife been very pre/post at the moment. Best avoid her as mood swings are on the cards! Am envious of Wannabe's diet and exercise program! Chips, burgers and walking...spot on. Still clean, not even wanted a bet. One day at a time, one step at a time.
  • Morning all. Home, wet (suprise suprise) and smiling (I think)! Checked email and recieved confirmation email for the holiday company. Whoo hooo! Downside is (I think) that the renewal of vows is going to be cost prohibitive. Am still waiting for the breakdown, and will have to wait and see. I might try to broach the subject of "good publicity" etc with the company and see if we could get them to assist the with cost? does that sound cheeky?
Cant sleep. is nearly 3 am.

  • morning wannabe, hope all goes well. Am sure all will go fine. Kids just woke me (not the wife) up to make them breakfast! less than 3 hours sleep. Oh the joys of parenting!
  • Evening people. Has it really been 65 days since I last gambled? Last bet 24th Feb 2010.
Its break time at work and just a few snippets. Worked out my finances for the coming 19 days till payday. Find I am -£16 but working on a solution to the problem (can I sell my body in advance to medical science!)? Actually, I will be ok if the cheque from HSA arrives before the 6th May, as this will give me enough to pay off the £16, £100 for the final part of my dental treatment and a little left over to play with. Still no news from Santander (clasps hands together and prays to the god of financial assistance).
Natwest card now at £4200 and max'd because of the dental treatment but has now been consigned to the wifes wallet.Hopefully will see that decline soon (especially if I get to transfer to the santander card). Got to find a real second source of income, £100 a month would be a bloody godsend and would make all the difference too. Feeling a bit crap. Work is becoming a bind and some of the people here are getting on my tits. Am working all over the weekend and bank holiday, and sunday will have a 4 hour round trip for work because of engineering works!
Wannabe, well done for passing the inspection. I had every confidence in you.
To paraphrase the guy in Jerry Maguire "...SHOW ME THE MONEY EBAY, SHOW ME THE MONEY!"
Have a good weekend people and a safe bank holiday too.
