  • another clean day. Am exhausted. Is midnight, and I am up at 5 to go to work! Took the kids to the park for a picnic, and they bushwacked me for an ice cream each so now down to £1.10. Also got fed a Kitkat by my daughter (much to the delight of my son) so failed one day one with the chocolate challenge. Been a bit moody, keep looking at the figures and trying to see if there is a short cut, but I can't see anything. Still, ever hopeful. Going to list my old sky box on ebay along with the satillite dish. Who knows, might get a few quid for it. And so to bed...after making my sandwiches for tomorrow/today. Corned beef and salad.

Well done on another clean day..keep it up :)

Sounds like you had a good day out with your kids at the park.

I love ebaying and I'm always surprised at what things sell. Good luck with selling your old sky box ~ might be worth having a look round the house and see if there's anything else you can get rid of while you're at it. Bit of a spring clean!

Did you look further into mystery shopping? I've been doing it for about 7 or 8 years now, and I work full time, so all my mystery shopping jobs have to fit in around lunch times, weekends, and children.....but I still manage to do a few each month. Some will pay a fee which is then pure profit, some will pay for a sandwich lunch, plus a small fee (who says there is no such thing as a free lunch) and some will pay no fee, but will pay the expenses for a day or meal out - eg a trip to a National Trust property (great with the kids on a nice sunny day). I've been lucky over the years and been able to take the children out for a meal which is a real treat for us, with the bill being picked up by the mystery shopping company.

Or being paid £10 to go to your own bank and ask a question about savings accounts? Easy money!

There is a good thread on the "up your income" board on MSE where they can give you the low down on each mystery shopping company as they all have slightly different ways of notifying you of available jobs, payment etc.

  • At work, blinding headache due to lack of sleep, an ill wife, and a daughter that had a bad dream that woke her up. Max 3 hours sleep and getting irritable.

50p left in my pocket. splurged on a newspaper (if you can call the Sun that!).

Still haven't got around to posting my thstuff on ebay, but will try to get it done in the next few days, as will I DEFINATELY look at the daily clicks (promise).

Email from the holiday comp, stating that we can go on the 5th July as we wanted (wedding anniversary on the 7th) and are still looking into us renewing our vows. They now need to check out the flights for us. All systems go!!!!!

Talking of ebay, may have found a niche market that may allow me to make a few bob on the side. More investigation is needed but for an initial £100 outlay may be able to recoupe 100% mark up. Not exactly entrepreneur of the year but from little acorns do big oaks grow. As I said, more research needed but very hopeful. If am able to make a couple of hundred, then would be a Brucie bonus!

Got to catch up on my competitions as well! SO MUCH TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME!

    Thanks for reading
  • ROFLOL, - Guy at work just offered me a horse in he sweepstake for the Naitional, and gave me a dirty look when I said no! Called me a tight sad loser and I was spoiling everyones fun.
  • Paramedics to the house last night at 3am. Wife in extreme pain with her upper back and difficulty breathing. She has a very bad case of tonsilitis, and they have swollen up so much thats what caused the breathing difficulties. Also has lost her voice. Had to take the day off work but hopefully will be able to use a days annual leave instead of losing a days pay (which I cant really afford to lose).
Very tired, but getting dinner ready. Going to look at the daily clicks link today, as well as get the Satellite dish and sky box photographed ready for listing on ebay. Also going to see what else I can list. Ever hopeful. One step at a time

    mortgage owing 04.07 £36,000
    mortgage owing 07.10 £0 !!!!
  • Thanks daisy for the support, all is welcome.
Just done dinner, kids playing out in he garden, wife sleeping. 90 minutes to get the listings done, and then feet up for the footy and a can of lager. Listing the sky box, satellite dish, and a signed theatre poster.
    ONWARD!!!!!
  • To quote Arkwright (open all hours) "It's been a funny ol' day". Work agreed to let me take a days leave for yesterday, so no lose of pay. Confirmed when the 0% ends on the cards. Also confirmed when the fixed term ends on the mortgage (May 2013, not February as thought).
Then the bad news hit. The Personal loan still has 100 payments to make. This means that the actual total owed on it is £15,558. Felt like a smack in the face. Knocked me back a bit.
Wife getting better. The antibiotics worked and got the swellings down. Going to hav to sit down again and do over the figures again. Still clean, no bets. Have a headache. Going to have a bath, a soak, a cry and go to bed.
