I know what you mean when you think you are doing better than you are, i think most of us have been there.
You are doing fantastic just by the fact you are here and talking about it, well done on staying clean.
Just take one day and one debt at a time,at the start i listed all my debts in my signature but found each time i logged in and looked at it was staring at me and it became so depressing, now I have the debt im dealing with and some of my cleared debts so i know i can do it.
    You can too :D
Forgot to ask what happened to the 50p you had left ?

  • The 50p was "borrowed" by the wife. Thanks Daisy and Herewego. Been a rough few days, still a bit tired and run down. Now have with drawn £5.00 out of the ATM and hope to make that last until friday. Have decided to take the kids to the seaside for the day on friday. Is my day off, have cheap rail travel, take a picnic etc. Give the wife a day off. Hopefully be nice weather. Won't cost more than £20 and might make my mood a bit better.
Should get an email tomorrow to confirm all details about the holiday.
Am paying £375 off the cards as standard at the moment. Going to try and make that £450 with ebaying and other ways. Looking at the mystery shopping thread tomorrow. night people, thanks for listening.
  • Hi William,

I have been following your thread with interest and I echo everyone else, you are doing brilliantly. One step at a time and you will get there.

Congratulations on your holiday win and a lovely idea to renew your vows too.

Sorry to her about your wife. Hope she's feeling a bit better now that the antibiotics are kicking in.

Enjoy the seaside. At least with the weather getting better, you can be spending more time out and about (for free / or next to nothing!)
  • Another no spend day, with the "not so crisp" fiver tucked away in my pocket! quieter day at work. No news from the comp people. Will email them instead today. Gong to empty the garage on saturday and see what I can sell. Will split the earnings between the holiday spending money fund and the debts. Also got to look out for a local car boot sale. All I have to do is persuade that wife to let me get rid of the stuff we don't need.

hello William, Thanks to Raini bumping your thread i am going to add you to my subscriptions.

I really admire you. I read your post all the way through. I hope your wife is feeling better. Hopefully you will be having a glorious holiday soon. You are a hard worker and i really admire that. And you are doing incredibly well overcoming your issues.

I am new. I have been on here for one month and i have saved money whereas usually i am nearly overdrawn. I am saving to do my house up and also to pay for a fab holiday in two years time and also because i am sick of spending on rubbish when i work so hard for it!!!

My little nieces have taught me how to ebay and so far i have made £25. I can't believe it.

I must get off my bum and go and mow grass but it is a bit chilly today.

Nevermind your inspiring thread has given me the impetus i needed.

    Have a good day.
