Petal it is never as bad as you think. You are good at your job otherwise you would not have lasted 27 years - a great achievement in any company. I will pray for you. Stay strong focus on what you have - a year of not gambling, a fabulous family, great kids and wife and she is going to be working and happy too.

Focus on a future goal. Ignore what happened at work today. I beat myself up over things all the time (dont ask how stupid i was today) and it is wasted energy. Please dont ok. Go and hug wifey and kids and have a nice drink to forget. Ooooh think of Firewalker in leather. Bless you my friend. swX

No matter what happens tomorrow, staying clean for a year is a cause for celebration. That can't be taken away from you.

Do you go into work tomorrow? If not, is there any way you can contact those that matter to find out what is going on? My thoughts will be with you, as it is a horrible feeling not knowing. Can you back up your gut feeling by facts? Try to think logically, work out whether you really did screw up or whether it is in your mind only, and if you think you really did, go into work, fess up and see how you can put things right.

Good luck! And let us know how you get on.

Oh, and do celebrate tomorrow. The negative, if there is one, cannot cancel out the positive.

I can't go into details, but yes I have screwed. Not in the physical sense either, nor financial. I screwed up because I did what every other person had done for the last eight years but the difference is, on the day that I did it, something happened. This has now been noticed, and being investigated. My only hope is for leniency from my bosses who, it appears are looking to cull the workforce as quickly as possible. 27 years means nothing today. Loyality means !!!!!! all.

Am not at work until tuesday night now, but I have enough contacts at work to keep me in the loop.

I know it would be difficult, but would it be worth going in tomorrow, holding your hands up and admitting the wrongdoing? Really, I do know how horrible this would be, but it may be better in the long run. But I don't want to make things worse for you - only you know the full circumstances.

I feel for you. I do so hope you can resolve this.

Actually thought this but the reality is I need to establish what their thoughts are before I make any statements. The fact of the matter is in the past this would all be forgotten about, but in todays climate, well, who knows...All my colleagues are crapping themselves because I have stated that if I go, I will take a few with me, especially the ones that think that they are safe

Stay calm. Follow advice in my email. Talk this through with firewalker too. Tell her everything she is wiser than me. There is always a solution, always. I should know i have lost count of the times i have been shafted but i always live to tell the tale and you will too. Look at how far you have come you are our friend and you are going to make it. love kit.

Ok, sources at work have told me there are several issues at play. They are of various degrees of seriousness, and I know that SHOULD a full investigation take place, then I am screwed. HOWEVER, knowing the person that they have tasked with carrying out the investigation Things could be a hell of lot worse. I still have concerns, but will at least sleep tonight. Thanx to all for your thoughts, prayers and concerns.

1 YEAR CELEBRATION TODAY. Will allow myself a pat on the back, but thats all. Will save the party for after I know whats going on at work. Slept fitfully last night, and on the sofa too. Didnt want to disturb the wife. She of course thinks that I am annoyed at her. Taking the kids swimming in a few minutes and then to a local museum. Trying to keep busy.
