Sounds like you have got the flu that I had over Xmas. Could not get out of bed if I did was exhausted by making a cup of tea
  • Had it since wednesday. Wife, like most women believes that only a female can be ill and men only fake it...like women dont know anything about faking it...

trying to get my head cleared so I can do something/anything.

A colleague posted this on facebook...

It appears that I am increasingly having to deal with people who suffer from "Cranial Rectum Insertion" symdrome or, as its more commonly known, people with their head up their own !!!!. Does anyone know where these people can get treatment?

Unfortunately these yahoos inhabit our lovely planet. But dont you believe in judgement day? They will meet their Maker we just have to be patient and wait for the next station stop. I hear the barbeques are pretty good in their final destination and steaks are served extremely well done.

I sound like a zealot don't I but i do try to keep this in the back of my mind.

There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it ...always..." Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • good morning all. Still under the weather but had enough sitting around feeling sorry for myself. I have too much to do. Today I will be parcelling up a couple of packages for music magpie (CD'd salvaged from a skip that now are going to make me 30 pounds), updating my snowball after paying all the CC's this month. Can actually see them slowly but surely coming down. Also have to list a few items on ebay, then sit down and help write my wifes job application for a part time dinner lady! I am sure that having to write a double sided A4 page application listing all the things they ask for are not really neccessary. It appears now you need a degree in socialogy to wipe tables.

Off to watch Mr Murray do his losing thing in the Australian open. Poor lamb!
  • Afternoon campers. Today has been busy. Parcelled up the CD;s for music magpie. Listed 10 items on ebay, shopped for veg and stuff with daughter while son played the Wii. Cooked sunday lunch and bulked cooked minced beef with onions, carrots, peas, celery, tomatoes, sweetcorn. All will be frozen. Also got my daughter to cook cupcakes. Wife not happy about the state of the kitchen but I will clear up later. Will update the snowball later as well. Nothing else to report.

    Stay lucky people
  • Good afternoon. Just returned from town after posting the box of cd's to musicmagpie & the letter to Egg with the statements. Just walking in town made me realise that my chest is still tight and the bug is still with me.

HUGE arguement in the post office over the self service machines. The one I used (as the queue was 50+ people) took my money, then didnt print out a ticket, but gave me a receipt for my 50p to cash at the counter! Not one to cause a fuss, I walked straight to the counter to get my money, only to be told "you have to join the queue". At this point I requested a manager. I explained the problem and stated that "the machine was there to reduce queueing times. If it runs out of stamps then it should have returned my money, not printing out a receipt". He told me that he was unaware of this, and apologised. He then stated that I still needed to wait to get a refund. When I pointed out that wanted a stamp & not to spend 45 minutes standing around seething about the lack of customer service, he finally relented and got me stamp and change. Note to self - avoid the self service machines.

    Still clean. Need a beer.

If you go to the Royal Mail website you can print your own stamps out
  • I was killing three birds...deliver package for Musicmagpie, get stamp, get some fresh air.
  • Good afternoon. Feeling better, but only just. Boring day so far so will be going for a walk into town for a browse in a few minutes.
  • Hello all. Not been a bad afternoon so far. Visited denist (cracked a tooth a few days ago). All sorted now. I was also lucky enough to find a NHS dentist so was very reasonable for the treatment.

Had a power cut last night. 4 hours of sitting in the dark doing nothing but twiddle my thumbs. No TV and no PC! couldn't even read as no bloody lights.

The items I listed on Ebay have been strange. I found a bag of CD's in a skip a few weeks ago that I sent to musicmagpie. However, there were 6 that they didn;t have the barcodes for so they couldnt accept them.

I listed tehm on ebay and one CD is now at £5+ after 24 hours! Weird. I think it might be a deleted album.

Feeling a little better. Might even go for a swim later. Just cooked dinner for the kids and awaiting their return from school.
