Well, changing poor to broke would seem appropriate because the way I feel I am broke. Always tired through too much stress (work & home) and no bloody energy. But, in saying that...
Wife has just told me that we have received a letter from the headmistress of the school. It says
"Dear parents, I am sending this card to your son in recognition of his excellent work at school. He should be proud of his achievements, and as parents so should you."
I can honestly say that I am walking on air at the moment.0 -
And I bet you feel like a millionaire right now (deservedly so). What a fantastic letter to receive. Why not ask your wife to put it up somewhere prominent where your son will see it as soon as he comes in from school today? Well done:TWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Wow! What great letter to receive - William, enjoy and forget about the rest. I am sure you will manage to create a bright future for your family and yourself.

Since writing the last entry, I have not been well. Actually I have had a temperature up in the 100's, breathing problems and a god awful chest and a headache like nothing else. I did go to work, only to book off after a few hours because of the banging headache. I got fell asleep on the train home and ended up missing my stop by three stops and had to get a cab back I was so screwed up. I dosed myself up with flu remedies, honey and hot lemon and a loads of scotch. My wife wanted to call the doctor but I said no, I just went into hibernation for a day, locked myself in the spare room. I booked an annual leave day for today from work, who seemed a little annoyed that
This morning, still feeling like crap, but temperature down to high 90's, ventured out of my room to find the wife had made chicken soup (with large chunks of carrot, swede, potatoes). Have had more hot lemon & honey (no alcohol today), but still going to sleep in the spare room so hopeflly won't infect the wife.
Start my holiday tomorrow...have friday & saturday and then have 7 days off. Lots to do.
Have used "Whatsthecost.com" to snowball my account and have made it public, and got paid this week, so will be looking to update the payments, and see it come down. Have posted my last three months bank statements to egg, but not holding my breath. I will cancel the other card as soon as I know whats happening.
FW...my daughter was made up for him (I think). Will be taking them both to football if the weather is not too cold (and yes, I know its supposed to be a treat, not a punishment!)
This is a big month for me. I will be looking at getting my stock in for the joint venture and see if that rocks. I also have another item that will (I hope) will become what I call "a trickle earner". This being a large stock of small cost individual items, that will sell at a consistant rate over a few weeks.
I am still clean, still here, still fighting and still standing (if a little blooded and bleeding) and blocked up and sniffy!
Take care people, be safe.
Oh, I was watching Erin Brockovic on tv today, and heard the best ever comback.
"Im, sorry, we seem to have got off on the wrong foot"
"Well, thats all you got lady, two wrong feet, and f**king ugly shoes"
Laughted so much I nearly coughed up a lung!0 -
Look after yourself. Lots of horrid bugs going around. Well done on business venture, sorry about cold, yuk. I do hope footy goes well.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

I love Erin Bronckovic. One of the bits I enjoy most is when she got all documents signed and the suited lawers asked how did she do that. The answer was wonderful.
Look after self and twins, William and all will be well. OH might be right about the Doctor though - there is swine flue around and this is one very serious thing.

Had swine flu last year, and had the course of tablets. I am just "being a man" according to her. Still not feeling 100%. Was supposed to be going bowling with the guys from work tonight but decided against it. Time for a more honey, hot lemon and a some alcohol me thinks. Wish the stock would hurry up and arrive. Must get my stock control in order. Also I need to get some things on ebay.
Going to bed with a book, my homemade remedy and a teddy bear (but don't tell anyone)!
1 day nearer 1 year clean.0 -
Oh bless you, i hope you feel better tomorrow. I am sure i heard somewhere that men really do suffer with this manflu we women are always joking about. You guys feel the symptoms far more acutely. Well i had a bad cold/flu malarkey thing and it nearly finished me off during xmas and i still dont have much of a voice so i hope it goes and you have our sympathy.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Woke up at 4am with a bad case of dehli belly. My chest feels so tight, like an elephant sitting on it. Wife says I am playing "the game" in an attempt to get out of doing anything, but I am supposed to be on holiday, and taking the kids out today so all the pretence would be stupid. Heyhoo, somethings never change. Anyone recommend anything to get this crap off my chest?
Have I told you allI have a friend who is a qualified hypnotherapist? She has helped me in the past and is now looking to use me in hypnoband weightloss program as a case study. Hopefully will stop my cravings for chocolate and regulate my eating.
Off for some brunch and some decongestant0
