  • Regarding the rolling the profit over, I totally agree. The promblem is getting the right stock at the right time. For the past few months I have been fortuneate (and long may it continue). I also have a few colleagues that I use as sounding boards and creative muses! Although I do admit that they are none the wiser about this.

Glad to hear you are taking it easy. Me, on the other hand, I have been doing the opposite. Had the kids all day yesterday, early (10pm) night and up at 7am this morning. 15 minute yoga (don't laugh, was my first attempt) workout and 30 minutes on the Wii fit+. One day I will get back into the work out lark and actually lose the belly and the weight!
Happy Valentines Day to all my readers.

And FW, I am still waiting for the pics of you in your motorbike leathers!!!!!!

Not laughing at all - Wii fit is very good for yoga; doen't let you get away with sloppiness. All the rest is not that clear cut. William, if you want to get fit start doing press ups, squats and pull ups at home. Start by doing 20 press ups, 35 squats and 30 pull ups three times. When it satrts feeling easy increase the number of repetitions. between series go up and down the stairs for two minutes. It is good - the weight will start dropping off and you will be fit. And it will take you about 20 min in your house, in your own time...

Motobike leathers! Now we are talking - but this is still work in progress. Patience...

  • FW I will definately think about the sit-ups and press ups, but the squats are out as my knees are knackered. Perhaps I will incorporate 15 minutes on the cross trainer as thats low impact and might work just as well the running up and down the stairs, as well as the yoga.

As for the the leathers, well the say patience is a virtue...

Start carefully with squats but do not ignore them. If your knees are bad your need to develo what I call the infrastructure - ligamets and muscle around them. Squats...

Hope you had a better day - work is bad anywhere, William, I suppose it is the whole economic and political climate. I am one of the lucky ones - at least I don't have to go in. Still feeling cross and fearful, though...

  • evening everyone. Today has been an exceptional day. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 70!

I slept late, rising at 9 to a cooked breakfast, make by the wife. I received a phone call from my brother confirming buyers for various items I had for sale. This cleared my stock of 1 item that I thought would be difficult to shift, and £58 profit.

Did my meals for work for the next week ready for freezing. At midday, I drove with the wife to the kids school for her interview and waited in the car. This killed 45 minutes, and I spent it relaxing listening to a paul Mckenna mp3 with the seat laid down, eyes closed and just drifting off. She seemed pleased with the way it went and we had a pub lunch for a change. During lunch she received a call saying that the job was hers! I thought she was going to faint. Well, she starts after half term, and, although 1 and 1/2 hours a day & about £7 an hour, it's a foot in the door, gets her out of the house and her confidence will increase as the days go on.

Oh and I am still clean, and I am only 1 week from 1 year clean!

Keep the faith and smile people..it makes them wonder what you have been up to!
  • Hooray, things are on the up William. So pleased.

  • Good morning all. Not such a good weekend. I found out yesterday that a dear friend of mines' mother passed away and the funeral is tomorrow. I have taken the rest of the week off so I can travel to the funeral on monday, stay over till tuesday and come back later the same day. I already had a a few days off booked at the end of the week so just extended it. Have to readjust the finances this month to take into account travel, costs, overnight stay and other things but hey, he has always been there for me so no real hardship.

Had it confirmed that mother in law will be moving in with us from November this year so need to speak to the immigration people here to see if there is any problems. I can' see any as she was working in the UK in the 60's, her son and daughter hold british passports and she has a pension here, but we will see.

Wife is excited at the prospect of going to work (as am I). Anything that gets her her confidence back and out of the house can't be a bad thing...he says hopefully.

New stock arrives this week and hopefully (and I really mean it) my selling streak will continue.
I already have an idea for additional stock but this will again need research.

Nearly there, only 4 days to go...

  • This has not been a good week. Work situation is dire. May have thrown away 27 years with the company. Hate myself at the moment. What should be a great celebration for staying clean for 1 year tomorrow will be spent wondering if I have a job. As usual I am probably over reacting but I have a gut feeling that I have screwed-up. Still clean, but f**ked off no end
