congratulations glad you had a fantastic day...

If you dont mind me asking but why did you have to get married at the registry office here before the one abroad?

It was easier for us to do it this way. If we got married properly in the Dominican there was a lot of paperwork and it has to all be translated into Spanish, and back into English when we get back. Too much effort (and cost) for us as we're lazy and I'd be panicking that we'd missed something! This way we turn up with our marriage certificate and we have a blessing, no stress! When we were talking to the registrar about it she said that lots of people do it this way and it makes getting copy certificates in future a heck of a lot easier too!

Crikey, 4 sleeps until we go!

Busy week this week full of lots of last minute things to do. Getting 'Hollywood Lashes' done tonight then rushing off to the in-laws to use their printer so I can print off our little welcome books. They're really cute if I do say so myself! There's a little welcome letter, tips about the hotel, a list of excursions, some basic Spanish, a wordsearch and a crossword that I made up using facts about everyone as the clues. Discovery Puzzle Maker is a totally ingenius invention! :D

Tomorrow I have to leg it to a little cake shop in town to pick out a cake stand to hire as I have to let my friend know how big the cakes have to be.

Thursday I'm taking the afternoon off work to get my nails done, then I have to run around looking for some black bikini bottoms as the ones I'd bought and thought would be OK are in fact hideous! After that I'm off to my Mum's friend's house for a pedicure, nibbles and a glass of champers :)

Friday will be spent packing and unpacking and repacking until I'm happy then I'll be flitting about all night compulsively checking my lists to make sure I haven't forgotten anything! I need to load some movies and music onto my phone and make sure it's all charged up ready for the plane, I probably won't use it but I like to have the option! OH is having to take all of my hand luggage in his bag as I'm taking my dress as my hand luggage so I'm under instructions to only take the necessities, not the usual 2 books, 3 magazines, 2 puzzle books, DS, ipod and phone that I find myself lugging about! Not to mention the extra jumper and fluffy socks in case I get cold, and of course the sweets!

    Oooh I'm so excited!

I'm really giddy about it! :j

Got a bit excited yesterday as I heard the HR lady ordering a cake for Thursday and I was 'Eh up? Is that for me and OH?!' No, it's for a driver who's been with the company 25 years. Humph. :o It would be nice if we did get something; we've both worked here for over 6 years, we met here 4 years ago and now we're getting married, never mind the fact that I'm leaving to work in another office when we get back, people have had cakes for a lot less! I just really like the chocolate cakes that the canteen lady makes! :p

Just in case I don't get online before you head off (or in case you don't for that matter), I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon. Can't wait to see pics when you upload them. Also, thank you for that link - as you know, I'm a teacher, and I'd never come across that site before, but I've bookmarked it now - as you say, absolute genius!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

You better check in before you go!!! I'm so jealous, wishing I was heading off on hols for my own wedding. In retrospect it would have been better if OH and I had just eloped to Italy or something, and stuffed the rellies and their demands!!

I'll be in and out till Friday, don't worry Lara! :D

Glad you liked the link SM, I came across it on another Destination Wedding forum where I stole a lot of my ideas for the OOT bags.

I finshed my welcome booklets last night but forgot to photograph them so I'll post pictures tonight if I remember!

Remember the pineapple palm tree thingies I was rambling on about months ago? These ones!

I was at the in-laws last night and MIL (I was going to put '2B' but she's not any more!) produced a stand that looked suspiciously like a toilet roll holder and asked if it'd do and it does actually look pretty good for threading the pinepapples onto. She's getting another 2 in different heights and when we get back we're going to start collecting, coring and freezing pineapples so they're ready to be assembled for the party! It's very handy having a crafty MIL! All we have to get is the leafy bits to stick on the top, not sure how I'm going to do that!

I got my Hollywood Lashes stuck on last night, feel very 'blinky' today! I was a bit annoyed with the girl when she first put them on because she said that she'd put on the shortest ones, but now I'm glad as they look very long and full, I really didn't need anything longer or I'd have looked like a drag queen!

Oh my goodness, 1 sleep left!!!!! :j:j:jI keep getting little excited flutters!

I think I'm all set to go, got my nails done yesterday afternoon then my Mum's friend gave me a pedicure and painted my toenails to match my fingers. OH has packed and I can spy a little space left in his bag that I plan on filling! Luckily I've finally managed to find room for all of the goody bag stuff so at least all of my guests will be getting their presents! I've also remembered to pack my Guest Book Page thingies and the Thank You banner I made aggggggges ago and couldn't quite remember where I'd stashed it!

I do need to pack some PJs as I've forgotten so I hope that writing it down here will remind me! Also some more knickers. You can never pack enough knickers! I think I've got that trait from my Mum who has an obsession with packing enough underwear to last her months 'just in case', even when I went round last night she was stashing another pair into her suitcase because she saw a tiny gap! :rotfl:I think there must be something in the water though because I was talking to SIL and she said that she'd had a dream that she'd forgotten to pack underwear and had to come scrounging off me so she got up stupidly early and threw loads into her suitcase so her dream wouldn't come true! :rotfl: We're an odd bunch.

I came into work today to a desk covered in confetti, a stuffed bunny dressed as a bride, a veil to match the bunny's and 'Good Luck' and 'Congratulations' balloons! I really don't think I'll be getting any work done today, which is good as I'm far too excited to think straight!
